Programming language design, compiler implementation, network protocols,

world. As a platform, it enables their customers to rapidly develop high

Runtime engineers are responsible for developing the programming language,
compiler, and deployment server for their technology. They collaborate
closely with the user interface team in order to provide end-users with the
most powerful authoring environment available on any CEP platform.

Reports to the CTO

Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will be to define, design, and develop
functionality within the (CEP) engine, primarily in Java, for commercial
product releases. This position requires hands-on development expertise,
developing innovative solutions for scalable, high performance distributed
systems. Successful candidates must be self-reliant, resourceful, and enjoy
working with other smart motivated people.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and
ability to work well in a team.

· Solid background in software engineering, including code reviews,
unit testing, and iterative development in large object-oriented codebases.

· BS in Computer Science or related field and four years experience
in server based development.

· Experience developing high-performance system software, streaming
data or CEP applications.

· Expertise in Java/.Net and related technologies desirable.

· Commercial Software experience desirable.

The ideal candidate will have substantial skill in at least one of the
following areas:

· Programming Language and Compiler Development

o Knowledge of several programming languages and opinions about their
design and implementation, with emphasis on compiler technology.

o Experience building code models for use in integrated development
environments, supporting broken-syntax recovery, semantic analysis, and
refactoring.

· Server and Cluster Development

o Experience in network/server programming with focus on throughput
performance tuning, connection scalability, reliability, and latency.

o Experience implementing fault tolerance and clustering
functionality in server deployments.

· Database Management System Implementation

o Experienced database user and designer, including schema design and
performance optimization.

o Experience designing and developing database management systems
core functionality such as query planners, query executors, access methods,

The following skills are also desirable:

· Experience with real-time system development

· Experience working with Web and application servers like Apache,
Spring, BEA, JBoss, IBM WebSphere, or other distributed applications

My client's platform is used to build some of the most advanced data
processing systems in the world. Their product enables rapid development of
flexible, high-performance applications, meeting the needs of demanding
customers in financial services, intelligence, e-commerce, and
telecommunications.

User Interface engineers at my client, design and implement features for
developers who use the firm's product, an Eclipse-based IDE product, to
build CEP applications. The product provides end-users with a complete
visual development environment, including but not limited to a visual editor
based on GEF, unit test generation wizards, Eclipse debugger integration,
JDT integrations, and much more. Other products in their suite that UI
engineers work on include a Live View Desktop, which enables visualization
of real-time streaming data.

Successful candidates must be self-reliant and resourceful and enjoy working
with other smart, motivated people.

Your primary responsibilities will be to participate in the design and
implementation of new features for one of the firm's product, an IDE used by
developers ranging from novices to experts. You will also work on user
interfaces that analyze and visualize data from a Live Viewer product, a
push-based real-time analytics solution for event data.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related
discipline, or equivalent experience.

· Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design.

· Fluency in general Java development, using JDK 1.5 and higher.

· Proven ability to design and implement desktop applications with
effective graphical UIs.

· Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability
to work effectively in a team.

· Experience working with cross-functional teams involving
development, QA, documentation, and technical support.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in at least one of the
following areas:

· Experience developing for the Eclipse Platform, especially
including fluency with SWT/JFace, JavaFX, or Java Swing. Knowledge of EMF,
JDT, and GEF. RCP development experience is applicable if it includes
developing a target application similar to the base Eclipse IDE, using
concepts such as the Workspace, Builders, Markers, and Annotations.

· Solid experience with UI patterns such as MVC and UI threading.

We are delighted that our guest speaker will be Sarah Krom, a Managing
Partner from SKC & Company, a full service accounting firm in Boonton
Township, NJ, known for providing not only tax preparation and monthly
reporting, but also proactive recommendations to improve their clients'
financials and employee workplace. Sarah is a CPA who immerses herself in
her client's business to fully understand their needs and help them
establish and achieve significant business objectives. She is a summa cum
laude graduate of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a frequent
speaker to trade and professional organizations.

The group leaders are John F. Carvelli and Janelle Razzino, both
parishioners at St. John's. Janelle is an Executive Recruiter located in
Westwood, New Jersey. This is a job search network group that is suitable
for everyone in transition. The group will discuss networking, landing the
job on the first interview, new ideas for resume campaigns, identifying
target companies, changing careers and a whole host of other topics. The
group will meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the Sheen Room of
the Parish Center.

The Career Resource Ministry will present guest speakers on such topics as
boosting your confidence and energy, creating a positive daily attitude,
meeting others in a network group for the exchange of valuable insights,
helping others to help each other and successfully overcoming the speed
bumps that afflict everyone's job campaign.

Networking will begin at 6:45 if you would like to get a jump start on
connecting with members during the evening.

Listedbelow are next week's upcoming networking events. All meetings are open to thepublic, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attendingat least one or two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely helpshorten your time in transition. Also, many of these groups convene in theevening, so it will not take time away from your daily job search activities.

Intraveling to these meetings, think about car pooling. Not only will it reducethe cost of driving there, but the friendly conversation will make the rideseem to go much faster.
