My name is Jamil and I'm an recruiter at Axelon Services Corporation. Our records show that you are an experienced professional with experience in financial publications. This experience is relevant to one of my current openings.
It is located in New York, NY.
PUBLICATIONS EDITOR

This position is for a Publications Editor to the Fixed Income Rates Strategy and Economic Research groups. There isn't a specific job description for Editor, hence the PMO Bus.Analyst was selected per Contingent Workforce Management recommendation

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PUBLICATIONS EDITOR:

Edit publications for internal and external distribution in publications produced by research groups covering Economics, Interest Rate Strategy and Foreign Exchange Strategy, and Credit Strategy. The editor edits, compiles, and publishes the daily US and Global Economics publications, and also other publications as needed.

Publication production is on a variety of schedules, with the daily, and the weekly publications generally published on Thursday and Friday, being the most important regular commitment. The groups produce daily, weekly, quarterly, and ad hoc pieces.

The objective of the editor is to aid clarity, readability and to avoid mistakes. Our research groups main communication channel with our clients is through our publications so that well written, accessible and stimulating publications are essential to get our message across and to create the right image for the firm. The editorial function is a vital part of this process.

The editor needs excellent English language skills, and knowledge of economics and financial markets. An enthusiastic interest in the subject matter will be a big help. Some of the contributors have English as their second language, so those pieces will sometimes need a more thorough reworking.

Tight deadlines apply to all publications and so good organizational skills are a prerequisite. Close attention to detail is essential. The editor also needs to have good interpersonal skills when working with authors and support staff.

As production of publications is becoming more web-based, experience and knowledge of publishing documents through the web would be an advantage. Publications are written with Microsoft Word, PDFd and compiled with Adobe Pro, and published on Client and the BNP Paribas client website. A familiarity with EcoWin and Excel charts, in terms of pasting into articles, is a plus.

The editor will support the New York and Latam research and strategy teams. Currently, there are two part time editors in London who edit for the European and global publications, and the US editor is sometimes asked to help when they are shorthanded.

If you are qualified, available, interested, planning to make a change, or know of a friend who might have the required qualifications and interest, please call me ASAP at (212) 384-6549, even if we have spoken recently about a different position. You may also send me an e-mail. If you do respond via e-mail please include a daytime phone number so I can reach you. In considering candidates, time is of the essence, so please respond ASAP. Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Jamil Moore

Note: Please allow me to reiterate that I chose to contact you either because your resume had been posted to one of the internet job sites to which we subscribe, or you had previously submitted your resume to Axelon. I assumed that you are either looking for a new employment opportunity, or you are interested in investigating the current job market.

In any event, I respectfully recommend you continue to avail yourself to the employment options and job market information we provide with our e-mail notices.

Event Details:
Businesses today are feeling the impact of some important trends that are converging in the enterprise: the growth of cloud services, a marked increase in data volume and processing needs, and employee demand for more simplified, intuitive connections with that data.

This presentation will cover how:

  • Power BI for Office 365 brings self-service BI solutions to everyday business users through the familiar tool they already use - Excel
  • "Power Query" helps customers easily discover, access, and combine their data
  • "Power Map" allows users to create rich 3D geospatial visualizations in Excel

Listed below are next week's upcoming Networking Events. All meetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attending at least one or two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely help shorten your time in transition. Also, many of these groups convene in the evening, so it will not take time away from your daily job search activities.

Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of like going to school, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gaining knowledge in job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standout from your competition.

In traveling to these meetings, consider car pooling. Not only will it reduce the cost of driving there, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem to go much faster.

If anyone is aware of an upcoming meeting that you would like to share with the group, please let me know and I will gladly include it with my weekly updates. Also, if any transition support group would like to receive this list of upcoming networking events, let me know and it would be my pleasure to add your group to the distribution list.

Thank you,
