Project Manager role
Looking for a fairly seasoned Project Manager that is super organized, super detailed and a very good communicator. Any experience with Media or websites is a plus. We are looking for a PM from the application development or the infrastructure perspective. The candidate will be providing technical project management for the companies Internet Infrastructure and Database Engineering team. Responsibilities will include:
• Planning, scheduling, managing and tracking discrete but overlapping projects that may range from hardware and software upgrades to application implementations or web site launches • Long term planning of staff resource availability that may determine the timing of technical and business driven projects or clearly demonstrate the need for additional resources • Evaluating and defining the staff's availability for new projects versus the time taken by day-to-day maintenance tasks • Maintaining group project and planning calendars • Running weekly project meetings • Defining, documenting and implementing "Best Practice" project management process and procedures • Working closely with senior technology management and other business-side project management organizations
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience managing large technical projects across multiple teams in an Information Technology or Internet specific business environment OR 3-5 years in Information technology management or consulting • Able to define project scope, develop detailed baseline project plans and technical specifications, facilitate the collection of technical, operational or business requirements, set milestones, as well as track and manage projects to successful completion • Must be able to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to project stakeholders • Bachelor's Degree or better • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem resolution and customer service • Outstanding analytic and problem solving skills • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities and follow through to completion • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task • Knowledge of networking, application servers, application security, web servers, on-line content management and DNS required; hands-on system administration experience in the above areas is a plus• Experience with software development life cycles, infrastructure rollouts, application release management a big plus • Expert with Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint • PMI or similar certification a plus

2nd Project Manager position
Dynamic Media firm is currently looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working, talented Web Project Manager / Business Analyst with experience managing projects for high-traffic websites in media industry to join Web Services Department. This position will work as a liazon between Web Services group, Digital Development department and various other groups within Turner as well as 3rd party vendors.The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Web technologies and development practices. They must be comfortable in a dual role as Project Manager and Business Analyst. Primary Job Duties **This position requires Media experience and PM/BA experience with a website. • Work closely with Web Services group and Digital Development business units to manage all aspects of multiple web development projects including design, development, QA testing and deployment. • Ensures that projects are completed on time, properly documented, meet management, customer and project objectives. • Must be able to translate and document requirements into actionable functional specifications. • Coordinates and acts as interface and liaison to the various technical and non-technical divisions within truTV and Turner. • Employs agile best practices for timely delivery and flexible planning. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Technology or related field; an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience. • At least 5 years of web project management in a fast-paced environment • At least 3 years of business analysis experience in media industry • Extensive experience managing projects involving web video, display and video advertizing, on-line communities, social media and etc. • Excellent writing skills and ability to produce just enough project documentation, business requirements documentation and functional specifications to drive successful development. • Candidate must possess an understanding of basic site usability and architecture principles. Some previous hands on implementation experience with content management systems (TeamSite preferred), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash or other basic web technologies. • Proven skills in relationship building, customer-focus, decision-making and problem solving. • Ability to lead team members to successfully deliver multiple projects on aggressive deadlines. • Must be process oriented with excellent organization skills and attention to detail • Must be extremely proactive with a strong work ethic. This is full-time contracting position in midtown Manhattan. |
