I do appreciate your help.   Title: VP Engineering Location: NYC Employment Type: Fulltime/ Permanent   The Role We're looking for a world-class Senior Vice President of Engineering to round out our technology team. Reporting to the CIO, you'll manage engineering and lead our technology initiatives as we take our product into this exciting next growth phase. You'll have the privilege of working with talented, passionate, professional and entrepreneurial engineers.  We're not just looking for a manager of people; this person will have a very hands-on role in moving our product forward and maximizing the value of our investment in technology.     Responsibilities Build and manage a team of highly motivated engineers Drive hiring, training, team building, career plans, and performance  and code reviews Ensure that development process is agile and efficient. Foster a culture of engineering rigor with a focus on the customer experience. Work closely with the business. Partner with Chief Architect to design scalable, highly performant solutions. Partner with Product and QA on the regular and on-time delivery of product. Experience managing offshore and nearshore remote engineering team members across multiple time zones. Make key decisions on technology, architecture, schedules, budgets & resource allocation.   Qualifications 7+ years of related experience, with at least 5 years leading technology teams. Track record of building and growing effective and loyal teams. Experience building consumer facing products and a passion for the customer experience. Hands on experience with Java.  Experience with Ruby a plus.  Retail and procurement experience a big plus. Experience implementing agile methodology practices and adapting it to the particular environment.
