Responsibilities: Configuration Management processes focus on ensuring details for configuration items are accurate and complete in the CMDB. The Configuration Management is focused on policing data quality against documented standards. Configuration Management is integrated into operational processes to ensure that information is updated in the CMDB throughout the lifecycle of a Configuration Item. The activities of the CMS Data Analysts are centralized around policing the quality of data through regular reporting and working with the relevant contacts in GI, GOI and Segment/Function DCT organization to resolve data quality issues. · Data Quality Managers · Data Managers and data Owners · I/T Development and Engineering · I/T Architecture · CMDB Developers
The Data Analyst will be responsible for:
· Creating and implementing a data discovery dtrategy in an effort to automate CMDB · Quality assurance of the data contained within the CMDB. · Identifies new items discovered in the global asset discovery tool and reconciles them with the CMDB. · Provides training on the tool, processes and standards. Maintains of online help documentation. · Administration of reference data in line with Configuration Management Policies. · Identification and documentation of potential CMDB enhancements · Creation of advanced reports for users to assist with data quality checking/improvement. · Working with owners of processes interfacing with Configuration Management to ensure that the checkpoints are producing quality data for the CMDB. · Working with the appropriate internal I/T partner to create a discovery model that will enable CMDB automation
Skills and Attributes: · Self motivated · Work independently with limited supervision · Solid troubleshooting & problem solving skills · Excellent communication skills bother written and verbal · Strong aptitude for learning quickly · Work well in a team environment · Excellent presentation skills Experience: · 5-7 years of practical experience with relational database structures and with record relationships and data keys · Process Management experience · Practical experience of continuous improvement methods and techniques · Experience working in a federated environment · Strong Database skills · In depth knowledge of CMS, CMDB and federated systems · Strong experience in CMDB data discovery methodolgies Skills and Certifications: · ITIL Foundations Certification · Have a good understanding of the ITIL disciplines (Incident, problem, change & release etc) · Management Database (Service Now) · Strong Database Skills · Server Side Java Scripting · Data Analysis · Experienced with Auto-Discovery tools · Be extremely detail orientated · Be a strong analytical thinker · Have strong presentation Skills · Possess good interpersonal skills for written, oral and face to face communications · Possess skills in influencing and negotiation methods and techniques
