I am not attending - I have been to a dozen job fairs and all eith want you to relocate or be in sales. However, I am up for a day at the pool sometime.

Yesterday, we launched the first personalized job search experience by integrating with Facebook. Job seekers can now utilize their Facebook profile and friends on SimplyHired.com to access customized job content to land a job.

Using this new capability, users who log-in with Facebook are able to discover jobs based on their friends' companies on the homepage of SimplyHired.com. On the search results page, users will also be able to search for jobs at their friends' companies as well as privately message friends about job opportunities to get the inside track on a job. Using this new capability, users who log-in with Facebook are able to discover jobs based on their friends' companies on the homepage of SimplyHired.com. On the search results page, users will also be able to search for jobs at their friends' companies as well as privately message friends about job opportunities to get the inside track on a job. Through beta testing of this feature, we've seen user engagement on SimplyHired.com double for users who log-in to Facebook.

No Degree? No Problem!

Not everyone has the time, money or ability to earn a college education. But if you don't have a bachelors or associates degree, it doesn't mean you're out of luck when it comes to job search. There are plenty of opportunities out there for people with only a high school diploma.

Unemployment Edges Up to 9.9 Percent

The April 2010 Employment Situation Report released by the BLS recently had somewhat mixed results with non-farm payroll increasing by 290,000, but the nation's unemployment rate edging up to 9.9 percent, after holding at 9.7 the past three months.

Many industries upped their hiring last month, including notable increases in manufacturing jobs, business services jobs, health care jobs, and hospitality jobs. Federal government jobs also rose due to an increase in hiring for the 2010 Census.

Incident and Problem Management

My client, a leading global investment bank, is currently looking for a
diligent project, incident and problem analyst to join the global
application management and support group for Credit Technology. This is a
permanent role based in New York City and will pay a base salary between
95-125k, depending on the candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business aligned support group and
help create a problem and incident management environment to help better
manage change releases. Your role will be to perform gap analysis, issue
tracking, management reports and metrics of incidents that occur during
change releases as well as take ownership over projects relating to the
credit IT production environment. You will be expected to perform in-depth
investigation and analysis of issues, determine where bottlenecks and issues
occur, escalate them accordingly and then help strategize with senior
management ways to improve the production environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong track-record in application
support in a high pressure finance environment (ideally with credit
experience). Candidates should have project management skills, experience
working within a PMO, preparing meeting materials, analyzing statistics and
producing reports. Those with an understanding of ITIL standards are highly
preferred. Strong Excel and Sharepoint skills are also critical to success
in this role.
