Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive brokerage and custody
services to more than 4,000 independent Registered Investment Advisors
(RIAs) and their clients. Additionally, the company provides custody,
clearing, and other services to third-party administrators and
corporations.
 
The Institutional Business Planning and Analytics Department is the
internal strategy group for the companys Institutional business
(Advisor and Corporate Services & Retirement Plan Solutions). Within this group, the Executive Insights team focuses on delivering
high-value, timely, and actionable business insights to the
Institutional leadership team and business partners across sales,
product, and service.
 
The Senior Analyst will lead key initiatives to support the Institutional
executive team, including reporting and analyzing internal business
metrics, synthesizing industry research and competitive benchmarking,
developing presentations for executive leadership that communicate the
companys story and business results to internal (Senior Operating
Committee, Board of Directors) and external (analyst, clients, media)
audiences, and supporting research efforts for key strategic
initiatives.
 
Projects may be broad in scope and require creativity as well as strong
research, data analysis, and strategic thinking skills. The candidate
must be able to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences, balancing being an articulate advocate and an
objective critic. Attention to detail is essential as well as
demonstrated success in synthesizing quantitative/ qualitative data,
distilling key points, and storyboarding. The Senior Analyst will engage with associates across all levels and partner with internal subject
matter experts.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Measure, analyze, and report on business performance tailored for internal and external audiences
·         Synthesize data and analytics to identify implications for the business and develop proactive analyses to eliminate blind spots
·         Provide decision support to senior management by engaging in data analysis and
research and support strategic business objectives through proactive
evaluation of marketplace trends
·         Conceptualize and design management presentations through use of visuals, charts and clear, cohesive messaging
·         Establish efficient processes for updating recurring business reporting packages
and recognize opportunities to design, document, change and implement
best practices
·         Measure, analyze, and benchmark business performance and initiatives success
relative to key competitors and identify opportunities to further gain
market share
·         Identify, analyze, and provide insights to competitive advantages/gaps in product development, service and pricing opportunities, changes in market
share, and business drivers
·         Provide fact-based analysis and strategic advisory to influence acquisitions,
partnerships, new product development, and enhance client experience
 
Requirements:
·         Bachelor's degree, preferably with coursework in business, economics, or statistics
·         At least 5 years of strategy work-related experience
·         Ability to synthesize industry information to uncover challenges and opportunities
·         Proven experience identifying actionable opportunities and yielding business results
·         Understanding of competitive environment, including operations of financial advisors, banks, brokers, and asset managers
·         Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to write clear, factual, and compelling analysis
·         Ability to structure meetings and conversation to derive meaningful insights
·         Strong leadership skills
·         Attention to detail with proven ability to manage several work streams/projects
concurrently and deliver quality outcomes within short timeframes
·         Proven creativity and resourcefulness in uncovering sources for secondary data
·         Strong preference for experience with strategic analysis, business analysis,
financial planning & analysis, competitive intelligence, or equity
research
·         Demonstrated knowledge of the financial services industry
·         Experience with analytical business intelligence tools, including Business Objects
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
·         Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, business objects, and SQL are a plus
·         Minimal travel may be required.
