The nextGenY Networking Group session will be held Wednesday, May 20th, 7 PM, Library of the Chathams (see flyer attached).   Please join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation and stimulating dialogue on what is both the primary, and often most debated (and even in some sense most abused) tool in a job seeker's array of assets – Your Resume.   Quoting from the Lansing Community College (Lansing, MI) web site –   ·        The purpose of a resume is to provide a summary of your skills, abilities and accomplishments ·        It is a quick advertisement of who you are ·        It is a literary snapshot of you with the intent of capturing and emphasizing interests and secure you an interview ·        It is not an autobiography ·        It needs to be carefully written and critiqued We will engage on these tenets, and much more. PLEASE BRING YOUR RESUME for mindful consideration, and active participation. So come out and join us – please plan to attend and spread the word.  I am confident that you will enjoy this evening.   MeetingAgenda –   -General Networking --> arrive early to meet new contacts, catch up with old friends -Introductions --> hone your 'elevator pitch'; master this basic element of job search, networking, interviewing -Group Introspection -->   Your Resume – What it is, What is Isn't, and Then Some   *** 2015 Calendar - Future meeting dates – Jun 3 & 17, Jul 15, Aug 19***   If you have attended this group in the past and found the evening to be both rewarding and informative please spread the word, and invite a friend. Finally for all cc'd on this message - if you know a twenty-something (or early thirty-something) who could benefit from a forum dedicated to the specific dynamic of Generation Y please forward this email.  For more information see the group'sFacebook - GenY Networking Group, or contact me.   Regards, joe f     Joseph J.
