Job search for the mature worker

What are some of the biggest challenges you face during job search as a mature worker? What can you do to overcome the common perceptions that companies, hiring managers and recruiters have that may hold you back from moving forward and finding your dream job?

In this engaging presentation, Certified Professional Coach and Speaker Bob Weingartner will share his insights on how to bust some of the common myths about mature workers and getting hired.  Mature job seekers are the total package when it comes to hiring. So why do employers buy into the notion that their age is a drawback? Come with your questions and leave with answers that give you confidence and help you land that job, in spite of your age!

Note: although this presentation is focused on the mature worker, Bob’s enthusiasm and expertise will be of interest to job workers of all ages. We think this meeting is rated “G” for General Audiences of All Ages.

Bob Weingartner is founder/owner of Weinfive Career Coaching, a niche business focused on assisting employees and business leaders in growing leadership talent and attaining their career goals.  Bob also assists job seekers who are suffering from what he calls "career anxiety or acute job search pain" and are ready to take their career to the next level.  His range of clients includes recent college graduates up to and including mature adults and senior business leaders. Just a reminder for our meeting on April 9th. Bring a friend, come for the
"speed dating", bring a holiday treat, Easter Bunnies are also invited.

Alex promises to deliver a GREAT EVENING!

Welcome Everyone,

On Wednesday, April 9th, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. the Hillsdale Career Resource
Ministry Network Group will be meeting in the Sheen Center at St. John The
Baptist Parish at 69 Valley Street in Hillsdale, NJ.

At our April 9th meeting we would like to welcome back Alex Freund, "landing
expert list" and Coach for a return engagement.

Alex promises to have an EXCITING evening planned for us. A new workshop on
interviewing skills. This presentation involves significant audience
participation and will be a very hands-on approach to building awareness and
skills around the interview process. Both informative and entertaining, many
unknowns get exposed and explained. NO INTERVIEW SUIT REQUIRED, however.

Alex is prominent in several on and off line networking groups, conducts
workshops and teaches career development. He also publishes a blog designed
especially for job seekers.

"Vitality shows in not only the ability to persist, but in the ability to
start over." - F. Scott Fitzgerald

The group leaders are John F. Carvelli, Janelle Razzino and Gary Gabaccia.
John and Janelle are both parishioners at St. John's. Janelle is an
Executive Recruiter located in Westwood, New Jersey and Gary is a former
Recruiting Leader for IBM and a parishioner at Our Lady Mother of the
Church. This is a job search network group that is suitable for everyone in
transition. The group will discuss networking, landing the job on the first
interview, new ideas for resume campaigns, identifying target companies,
changing careers and a whole host of other topics. The group will meet on
the second Wednesday of every month in the Sheen Room of the Parish Center.

The Career Resource Ministry will present guest speakers on such topics as
boosting your confidence and energy, creating a positive daily attitude,
meeting others in a network group for the exchange of valuable insights,
helping others to help each other and successfully overcoming the speed
bumps that afflict everyone's job campaign.

Please feel free to forward this note to ANYONE that you think would benefit
from joining us. Or, better yet, just bring them with you! Everyone is
welcome, and each month we try to cover a range of topics suitable to anyone
in transition, including networking, resume preparation, interviewing and
variety of others. Our speakers come with a passion for their topics and a
genuine desire to help, so let's all help each other in the pursuit of that
life-changing opportunity. And remember, it's all about what YOU find
valuable, so please let us know the subject matter of most interest to YOU.

Networking will begin at 6:45 if you would like to get a jump start on
connecting with members that will be attending during our "speed dating."
We will also have a raffle, good food, and some other exciting surprises for
the event. Please bring copies of your resume(s) and business cards to
exchange with others.

Bring your great and positive attitude. Refreshments will be served.
