COMBINED DINNER MEETING
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

The ETP Network

On Tuesday evening, February 9th, there will be a combined dinner meeting for current members, alumni, and guests of Association of Women in Computing (AWC),  IT-Networking, MIS Network Associates (MNA), Monmouth Networking, The Breakfast Club NJ (TBCNJ), ETP Network, and Careers in Transition (CIT) at the Holiday Inn, Totowa, NJ.

The dinner meeting will include a presentation by Rod Colón on his ETP Network.
Networking is having resources at your disposal-people that you can call on to connect you to companies, individuals or information that you need to turn a "cold call" into a "warm call."  How do you develop such resources whether in transition or not?  On the 9th, Rod Colón, who has a real passion for networking, will tell you how.
ETP Network Founder and CEO Rod Colón has a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in today's global economy.  Rod shares his 24 years of experience as a corporate HR management insider, outside agency recruiter, professional networker, and career coach through a unique, common sense approach to networking and career management. His in-depth knowledge of international staffing, recruiting, and networking gives Rod a unique ability to coach and consult today´s professionals regarding the building and maintenance of their personal networks.
Rod uses his passion, energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to support others. He coaches professionals in the art of leveraging relationships that maximizes personal networking opportunities. Rod has also taken this hand-on approach to corporations that recognize that an organization´s bottom line success requires professionals to leverage internal and external networks.  Mastering the skills and techniques to effectively utilize these networks is critical and essential to the success of both the professional and their organization.
One of Rod´s passions is teaching at Georgian Court University.  He believes GCU is on the cutting edge educating woman on career management and networking. His 3-credit course has already had a tremendous impact on many of his former students in their academic and professional goals, and the way they each view their role as active managers of their careers.
Rod has been featured in Princeton Review, and has received numerous awards and recognition.  Rod is a graduate Georgian Court University and is a board member of the Georgian Court Alumni Association.

The schedule for the dinner meeting on February 9th will be:

-         6:00 pm - Registration, cash bar, and "speed dating"
-         6:45 to 7:15 Individual introductions with RSVP list reference - see below

Following our usual meeting format, after you have registered and added your resume, etc. to the handout piles, everyone will participate in a series of informal networking groups i.e. "speed dating", before we sit down for dinner and the general introductions.  Briefly, these informal groups last for approximately 5 minutes.  At the end of the 5 minutes, the groups disperse, and new ones are formed with different participants.  Suggested dialogues for the groupings will be provided at the registration desk.

There will be an opportunity to circulate up to 50 copies of your resume, personal bio, leads, or other appropriate material in a handout from the dinner.

The cost will be $30 for everyone if forwarded by mail or other to John Sampson by COB on January 29th at 2 Blackfoot Cir, Wayne NJ 07470.  Checks should be made out to John. He can be reached at 973-248-3251. John´s email is jcsspike@yahoo.com. Reservations can also be made through Lizanne Fiorentino at adminedg@optonline.net.

If you are in transition, please include the names of three target companies and the kind of position(s) you are seeking. If you are currently employed, you should provide the name of your last three employers. The preliminary RSVP will be distributed to the recipients of the initial mailing of this announcement and to all those on the list the week end before the dinner meeting for editing and informational purposes.  A "final" numbered RSVP list will be available at the registration desk on the 9th and can be used as part of your general introduction ..."I´m # x on the RSVP list".

Since there will be walk-ins on the 9th,  the final RSVP list will be emailed to the attendees as quickly as possible after the 13th. A #ed RSVP  list will also appear on your name badge which will be available at the registration desk on the 26th.

The cost of the event will be $45 after the COB on January 29th and before February 9th. Subject: Excellent long term consulting Project Management opportunity & job description

John,

I hope this finds you well. I came across your resume online today and was hoping to speak with you about a terrific opportunity.  My client, a major health insurance company, is looking for Junior Business Transformation Leaders to assist on various projects within the Business Transformation function.  The right candidate will be Six Sigma certified, preferably Black Belt; have experience working on operational and BPO projects; have been heavlily involved in analysis and documentation, have experience doing value streaming and mapping; be a quantitative analysis thinker; and have experience with Minitab.

Below is an overview of the department and the type of work they are doing currently.  This is a long-term, open ended consulting project offering a pay rate of $50/hr C2C.  Should you or someone you know be interested, please feel free to contact me to discuss.

SYSTEMIC BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AND TRANSFORMATION:

Systemic business improvement and transformation is realized by effectively listening to customers, measuring and aligning internal operational performance with the expectations of customers, applying customer input to the development of products and services, challenging the status quo for how the business operates, significantly improving existing core operational processes, and eliminating non-value added activities, costs and time. This achieves customer aligned, integrated and sustained results.

The primary objective of the Business Transformation department is to measurably improve core business processes and to favorably impact corporate earnings, customer loyalty, and key operational metrics by:

·        Leading Lean Six Sigma business improvement projects that address variation in the Medical Management, Network Management, Member Acquisition, Member Retention and the Utilization Delivery System (UDS) core processes

·        Surveying and analyzing the "Voice of the Customer" to identify opportunities and develop actionable information for improving the overall member experience and increasing loyalty and retention

·        Conducting quantitative claims variation and customer value chain analyses that identify opportunities for bottom-line and top-line improvement.

·        Training and mentoring Lean Six Sigma skills to selected individuals to build the continuous improvement capabilities within departments across the organization

·        Auditing claims and enrollment core processes (and supporting processes) to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement

·        Identifying and implementing best practices, benchmarking performance in the health insurance industry, and fostering a cultural mindset that emphasizes customer focus, communication, process management and measurement, operational excellence and organizational development as outlined below.
Business Transformation Leaders apply a combination of Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, and Change Leadership skills to address significant business problems and opportunities. As a rule of thumb, if the solution to a business problem or opportunity is already known or developed, the specialized knowledge and skills of a Business Transformation Leader are probably not required and line management can pursue implementation with a basic Plan-Do-Check- Act process. When the solutions are obvious and/or can be readily developed, a routine Kaizen Continuous Improvement approach can be applied using the skills of employees across the organization trained in basic Lean and/or Six Sigma skills.

When the solutions to a business problem are not obvious, Lean, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma or a combination thereof need to be rigorously applied by Business Transformation Leaders who are certified in these respective bodies of knowledge. Determining what skills are required to address a business issue can be decided using the logic flow of the Roadmap below. However, large projects typically require a combination of Lean and Six Sigma tools to be applied while most analyses require the use of sophisticated statistical Six Sigma and Data Mining tools.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

We're an energetic startup located in Summit, NJ, and we're looking for super-bright people who can handle any challenge to help us create new products. We already have a great team, and we're looking for people who will make us even better. We offer excellent compensation, benefits, and 401K with profit sharing!

For the position of Product Specifications Manager, we're looking for a talented person to work with our team to:

* Create Functional Specifications for all of our current and future products. You'll be working with our developers, product marketers and customers to document the products we'll be creating now and in the future. These documents will be highly detailed, and will be the specifications from which we build software.
* Build screen mockups to demonstrate every feature and change before we write code. These mockups will allow us (and key customers) to test drive the software on paper before we write any code.
* Manage the Specifications throughout the development process. Our process is agile and nothing is set in stone. As our development progresses, you will make sure that the specifications are up to date. This task requires excellent communications and people management skills. We need to reach a delicate balance of the specifications following the developers and the developers following the specifications.
