Position Responsibilities - Summary

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to
contribute to a wide variety of strategic initiatives that directly impact
firm decision making and management. This role provides technical
leadership to the IT team supporting Finance, Tax, Partner Services and
Human Resources. Current state applications include everything from
packaged vendor solutions such as Workday, Innotas, and Revport to highly
customized homegrown applications solutions. Both the Finance and Human
Resources areas are looking to update and transform their platforms over the
next two years. This is an exciting time for someone looking to play a
leadership role in that effort.

As member of Corporate Applications, this individual will be responsible to
lead the Corporate Applications development team to design, develop, and
implement projects and enhancements to a variety of applications ranging
from Revenue and Client Invoicing, to Employee Benefits and Compensation, to
Budgeting and Project Costing.

This role should be focused 50% on leadership and management and 50% on
hands-on programming and solution design. The Lead Software Engineer will
manage 2 full-time employees onshore as well as a team of 5 development and
QA consultants offshore.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the development team activities including prioritizing
requests, designing solutions, and supervising the development efforts

* Participate in architecture, design, implementation, deployment,
and support

* Work with business team, project managers, and systems analysts
to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications,
use-cases, and test plans.

* Design, prototype and code new software components and
applications based on functional specifications.

* Coordinate with analyst teams to execute test plans and provide
support during user acceptance testing.

* Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new
functionality and to optimize them for performance, and implement new
systems.

* Work with other software engineers to design and implement
application features, including user interfaces, and business functionality
enhancements.

* Author technical design and support documentation.

Required Skills and Competencies:

* 8+ years of proven analysis and technical design, development,
and architecture experience

* 2+ years leading technical teams including managing an offshore
development team

* Experience in relational database technologies with strong SQL
skills. Familiarity with ETL Tools is a plus.

* Expertise developing Java applications using JDBC and JMS. Java
Web-Framework experience e.g. Struts, SPRING or similar

* Experience/Familiarity with AWS is a plus.

* Experience with, and demonstrated understanding of modern
software development and testing and methodologies.

* Willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and team-oriented
environment and handle multiple conflicting priorities

* Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal
supervision

* Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time
efficient manner

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the
ability to write technical documentation

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Keys to this Position:

1) We are seeking a Lead Database Developer that has a good
understanding of Java. Alternatively we will also look at a Lead Java
Developer with a good understanding of database development.

2) Database Technical Stack: Oracle and SQL Server

3) Java Technical Stack: Core server side Java, JMS, Multi-Threading
and Spring.

4) We are seeking strong Leadership and Communication skills. This
individual will lead a team of 7 (perm and consultants, on/offshore model).
