JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager will report directly to the Emergency Housing Director of Moreland and will be responsible for overseeing the case management and specialist teams. Ensuring that quality-housing services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines established by CHI, OTDA, Suffolk County Department of Social Services, and other funding sources as appropriate.

ENTRY LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: LMSW or Masters in related field required
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in supervising Social Work/Human Service Staff
Certificates or Licenses: Valid driver's license
Insurance: Valid automobile insurance
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet.
Math Skills: Must be excellent.
Physical Performance: Ability to tour the property, walk distances, climb stairs, etc.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Effective time management skills.
Must be energetic and self-motivated. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

SECTION 1: JOB RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.
Under the direction of theEmergency Housing Director, the Program Manager will work as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the case management and specialist teams.


Provides crisis intervention as appropriate.
Provide regular supervision for Case Management and Specialist teams.
Ensure that the program is providing quality services and are compliant with program requirements.
Promotes sound social work practices through supervision; including case consultations, case file reviews, and employee performance appraisals.
Ensures the timely and correct submission of all internal and external reports in the manner required by funding agencies and/or CHI (housing logs, client contact sheets, unit inspection sheets, progress notes, authorization forms, admission and discharge sheets, census reports, etc.).
Inform Emergency Housing Manager of deficiencies that require additional staff training.
Act as a liaison with agencies responsible for referring eligible customers.
Prevents loss of income to CHI as a result of vacancy loss, and lost shelter payments.
Adheres to proper use of company resources (cell phones, office supplies, internet, etc.).
Maintains appropriateness at all times.
Participate in the hiring process, initial and annual employee evaluations as well as disciplinary measures.
