Listed below are the upcoming May 2014 Networking Events.All meetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and stronglyencouraged to attend.
Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of likegoing to school, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gainingknowledge in job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standoutfrom your competition.
In traveling to these events, consider car pooling. Not only will it reduce the cost of drivingthere, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem to go much faster.
Next week I will be distributing the list of June 2014 NetworkingEvents. If anyone is aware of anupcoming meeting that you would like to share with the group, please let meknow and I will gladly include it. Also,if any transition support group would like to receive this list to share withyour members, please let me know and it would be my pleasure to add your groupto the distribution list.
In addition to the great in-person meetings listed below,many of these informative presentations are recorded and the podcasts can beviewed 24/7 on-line, when time allows. Twolibraries that I know about that offer these services are: 1) The New YorkScience, Industry and Business Library, which are available at: http://www.nypl.org/node/90324 and 2) The Westport CT. PublicLibrary, which is available at: http://www.westportlibrary.org/digital/podcasts/search-results?podcast_terms=jobseeker. This is a time saving and costeffective way of seeing a great presentation, from the comfort and convenienceof your home. Isn't technology great!
In the event of inclement weather, please check with themeeting organizer if the presentation will be canceled or postponed beforetraveling there. Your safety isimportant! Please rely on your bestjudgment before venturing out on slippery roads.
