Position Title: Process Engineer

Department: Clysar® Manufacturing Technical
 
Reports To: Project Engineering Mgr.






I.        Purpose
 
To gain and share an in-depth understanding of Clysar® processes. This position is the focal point for measuring and monitoring key process variables, working directly with operations and maintenance to resolve short-term issues and with the rest of the Process Team to solve chronic issues.
 
II. Duties
 
1.      Directs and participates in process troubleshooting activities on a daily basis to urgently resolve acute process-related problems.
2.      Develops proposals and executes improvement programs to deal with chronic process issues.
3.      Develops and implements small capital projects as needed to carry out improvement programs.
4.      Provides process troubleshooting training and support to develop skills of technicians, operators, and mechanics.
5.      Communicates with R&D personnel and helps coordinate plant activities related to product development.
6.      Works with Quality manager and coordinators to help understand product issues that may be related to manufacturing process and develop appropriate improvements.   
 
III.   Knowledge
 
1. Requirements
   
·        Strong commitment to safety on and off the site, and personal leadership to help the plant achieve safety objectives.
·        Strong communication and team skills necessary to work well with personnel from all functions across the site and with R&D.
·        Strong knowledge of personal computers and all Microsoft Office software.
·        Strong organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills to quickly and effectively identify root cause of problems and implement solutions.
·        Results-oriented, with a passion to deliver performance against objectives.
·        Training and experience in statistical analysis and scientific methods.
·        Experience with LEAN manufacturing or similar process improvement methods a plus.
·        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
·        Demonstrated record over time of accomplishing objectives on time and within budget.

·        Chemical Engineering or
·        Manufacturing Engineering degree with chemistry minor or relevant manufacturing experience or
·        Mechanical Engineering degree with chemistry minor or relevant manufacturing experience or

·        Industrial Engineering degree with chemistry minor or relevant manufacturing experience or
·        Other engineering degree with chemistry minor or relevant manufacturing experience or
·        Prefer 1-2 years of industrial experience with above average performance reviews.

Contacts
 
1. Internal
 
·        Daily contact with personnel on the shop floor – operators, mechanics, supervisors, technicians, engineers.
·        Frequent contact with personnel from all other functions and levels across the Clinton site.
·        Routine contact with R&D and Technical Service.
 
 
2. External
 
·        Has contact with customers, print partners, distributors, machine manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and technical service providers as needed to understand and implement process improvements.
 
V. Responsibility
 
Responsible for implementing process improvement efforts, as evidenced by continuous improvement in key manufacturing metrics – cost, yield, quality, utility, and uptime.
The person assigned to this position is expected to mentor and develop process skills in less experienced personnel to strengthen the broader organization. 
 
VI. Physical Requirements
 
This position requires an employee to stand, walk and sit; carry moderate loads and work at a computer for extended periods of time.  Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and to outdoor elements is also required.  Travel to vendor locations, and customer facilities may be required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer


Department: Corporate Engineering
 
Reports To: Engineering Manager

I.        Purpose
 
To provide manage large or complex projects at Clysar, LLC.  Advice, direct and coordinate smaller mechanical projects that other are leading.
 
II. Duties
 
1.      Safely designs/redesigns or safely adapts devices, machines and components independently or with minimal guidance.
2.      Manages project costs, project scheduling, and communicates pertinent data to appropriate areas for small capital projects as assigned.
3.      Produces and maintains layouts, drawings and specifications per common drafting and Clysar LLC Engineering standards.
4.      Performs technical calculations to support design decisions.
5.      Expert utilization of the Computer Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) system.
6.      Provides technical direction and support to draftspersons/designers.
7.      Uses common measuring devices, instruments and hand tools to develop part dimensions.
8.      Works from written or verbal directions, rough sketches or marked up prints.
9.      Coordinates or assists in the construction, installation and startup of equipment as assigned.
10.   Interfaces with potential vendors to coordinate project work. 
11.   Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting skills to other departments (i.e. Maintenance, R&D, Purchasing and 3rd party Machinists & Assemblers).
12.   Communicates all appropriate information in a timely manner and fashion to the necessary people within and outside the organization.
13.   Enters drawing and project information into engineering database system as required and constructs Bills of Materials for detailed machine components and assemblies.
 
III.   Knowledge
 
1. Requirements
   
·        A thorough, in depth knowledge of Machine Design and Drafting methods, practices and standards; especially in the areas of geometric tolerancing, finishes and dimensional standards.
·        Thorough understanding of machining practices.
·        Training or previous experience in Project Management.
·        Exceptional knowledge of CAD systems and their effective use.
·        A basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems and electrical control.
·        Effective communication, interpersonal and team skills.
·        Basic knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft software, including Word and Excel.
·        Thorough knowledge of Mechanical Design concepts and practices as they relate to packaging manufacturing processes

Overview

Our client is seeking a Perl Expert to modify or convert existing PERL scripts in an e-commerce tool that generates customer-specific price lists that can be viewed and downloaded. This tool is being migrated to a new SAP ERP system, and the format of the price documents must be revised accordingly in the new system.

Physical Location: Flexible, does not need to be on-site but the resource would be working with the India team. The only requirement would be that the resource overlap at least 2 hours with the India team (they work until approx. 10:00 AM EST).

Technical Skills:

PERL (Required), PL/SQL (preferred), JAVA(nice to have)
