Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is primarily responsible for
ensuring the availability and optimization of our production, development,
and QA databases. The DBA will assist in reviewing and deploying development
SQL code as well as keeping development and QA environments up to date.
Other duties include documentation, database application support and
troubleshooting, as well as development tasks focused on retrieving and
displaying production data for various internal groups.

Candidates must have strong database development experience as well as
database administration experience. The ability to review database code to
spot problematic areas, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation
is essential. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an
aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while
multi-tasking on more than one deliverable. As a member of the Database
Operations Team, the DBA will report to the manager of the Database
Operations group, and will provide technical expertise and guidance to the
team as well as internal development staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Ensure that databases are available to end users at all times.

* Review developer code for performance and scalability as well as
ensuring established coding standards are applied consistently.

* Ensure that database and query performance are optimized, and
automated database processes including replication, Data Transformation
Services (DTS) and SSIS are performing optimally.

* Provide architectural input and direction for the evolving
database environments.

* Implement enhancements and updates to ensure technology is
current.

* Respond to and remediate issues in all database environments as
they arise.

* Support Database service delivery to the business units 24X7,
including on call rotation.

* Maintain ongoing performance monitoring and error reporting
systems.

* Responsible for database disaster recovery of the entire database
environment which includes managing a timely SQL backup schedule to protect
the integrity of the information/data stored as well as off-site
replication.

Required Skills and Competencies:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical
field is preferred

* 5+ years of closely related experience developing and
administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and later; Additional Microsoft
database related technologies such as SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS

* T-SQL programming, performance, and optimization

* Experience with backup/recovery tasks, user administration, and
SQL Server installation and configuration

* Database replication technologies, configuration and performance
in a virtualized environment

* Scripting experience (batch, VB script, PowerShell, etc.)

* Windows Server 2008/2012, Linux, Sybase ASE 15

Position Responsibilities - Summary

This position has development and maintenance responsibility for the
software programs, databases and processes associated with our core business
environments. This would include support for a broad range of applications
such as research, investments, accounting and performance measurement, among
others. The position provides exposure to many business units in a dynamic
investment management firm. The role requires some direct interaction with
end users and excellent analytical and communication skills. The Software
Engineer reports to the Manager of Software Engineering and is a member of
the Information Technology team.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Work on an engineering team to develop and support business
applications

* Assume responsibility for the enhancement and ongoing maintenance
of numerous core business applications leveraging C#, Python, and other
integrated technologies

* Maintain, enhance, and develop new database objects within MS SQL
Server

* Build, implement and support data interfaces for applications and
systems

* Work collaboratively within IT and various business units across
the firm

* Partner with various teams to research, resolve, and document
production issues

Required Skills and Competencies:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

* 3-5 years of development experience; financial services industry
experience a plus

* Experienced with ASP.NET, C#, and the .NET Framework; SQL skills
(MS SQL Server)

* Database engineering exposure on the MS SQL server platform

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

* Excellent teamwork and consensus building skills

* Python experience a plus
