Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Business Analyst for a contract to hire opportunity with one of our premier financial clients in Jersey City, NJ.

One of SGA's Fortune 100 clients is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to support the Americas Balance Sheet Management IT business. The candidate will be responsible for headline-project requirements-gathering and due-diligence concerning IT work to support BSM trading desks across the Americas. This individual will work with BSM IT Americas Front-Office and Software Development teams to gather business requirements, formulate and write functional project/software specifications, develop time-lines, track/report project status, and perform testing.

Responsibilities:

In addition, the BA will be responsible for supporting PolyPaths (fixed income analytics engine), Third-Party prepayment models, Intex, and various proprietary tools. Internal Polypaths end-users include BSM and Rates trading desks, operations, market risk and product control teams located in the US, Turkey, and Hong Kong.
The candidate will ensure IT provides an accurate picture of risk for all supported desks, and that end-users can effectively use the PolyPaths risk management system interactively during the day.
The candidate will assist the business and model review groups in model upgrades/enhancements.
The candidate will integrate new positions and products into the overnight cycle as required by the business, configuring PolyPaths jobs and reports as necessary to effect integration.
The candidate will also support end-users in their questions about risk results, provide training on the platform, and assist with everyday issues regarding PolyPaths.

Required Skills:

Must-have College degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with CMO, Intex, cash flow, understanding of stress testing.
Regulatory experience (Nice to have). Some experience would be beneficial.
Experience supporting a front office trading desk
Adept knowledge of mortgage-backed securities and fixed income products
Adept knowledge of fixed income risk measures (durations, convexity)
Project Management experience (small to medium size projects)
Experience supporting PolyPaths is a plus
Should have some Excel VBA, SQL, Python, or Perl

NOTE: Ideally we want a BA with Polypaths. They should have some SQL, Python or Perl, and Excel VBA. For those that DO NOT have Polypaths experience, he expects them to have FO experience, worked with risk management systems (not operational), MBS, Asset Liability, Liquidity etc.
