Our client is a well-known brand in quality home furnishings, seeking a strong financial planner, controller and negotiator to join its executive team. The CFO position requires a highly analytical accountant able to help drive growth and profitability through strategic merchandising, including: assortment planning, vendor negotiations, on-site merchandising, pricing strategy and inventory management. Business and Accounting Responsibilities:· Provide strategic planning and recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities· M&A analysis and due diligence· Create, document and communicate internal controls and other policies and procedures· Maintain banking, legal, insurance & other key vendor relationships; loan negotiations; annual insurance renewals; credit card and finance company liaison; facilitate annual workers comp insurance audit; facilitate annual financial statement review and tax return preparation with outside CPA· Cash management and cost control· Budgeting and Cap-Ex planning· Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards· Oversee EOM closing; review workpapers, budget analysis, sales forecasts, KPI reporting, cash flow projections; prepare month-end memorandum; timely submit monthly financial reports to senior management.· Communicate financial results & budget analysis at corporate and department levels; initiate corrective actions as needed.· Manage and review sales tax filings· Manage licenses, permits & registrations· Partner with Human Resources to monitor staff development and training Team Management Responsibilities:· Collaborate on hiring and oversee team of accounting associates and category managers to manage vendor relationships, monitor inventory positions. · Own, manage, and prioritize multiple projects with high-quality output and attention to detail, appropriately delegating tasks and providing support for all team members· Provide team with actionable feedback and professional development opportunities· Serve as Category Leader in executive meetings when necessary, speaking to merchandising and marketing metricsVendor Management Responsibilities:· Establish new vendor relationships and work with existing vendor base to negotiate terms, develop incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to fulfillment centers. · Set vendor funding and terms goals and lead negotiations with top vendors.· Set frameworks and advise/participate in complex negotiations.· Ensure accurate forecasting and close monitoring of procurement margin. · Lead supplier/publisher business reviews.Inventory & Supply Chain Management Responsibilities:· Work closely with supply chain partners to purchase inventory required to support sales and promotions.· Partner with supply chain team to manage inventory health by ensuring efficient inventory flows (including the forecasting, purchasing, and return of new and catalog products). Determine and execute exit strategies for unproductive inventory.Qualifications Required:· Previous experience in retail as controller or higher; proven financial manager in high transaction-volume organization.· CPA, certification current.· Strong analytical acumen. EDRS is an existing software solution used by other state jurisdictions (including New York City) That will be configured to support New York State specific laws and workflows. New York State Is targeting a phase 1 go live in January 2015 that will involve NYS staff inputting of 20 15 death Certificate data directly into EDRS. Pilot programs where stakeholders create and file death Certificates using EDRS are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2015. Full statewide Rollout will begin in mid - 2015 and continue until all stakeholders are able to file death certificates Using EDRS. Our client is currently seeking a Java Software Engineer to join their
Corporate IT team in Carrollton, Texas. The Java Engineer works in an
application development team and provides analysis, design and development
of assigned projects and tasks with our applications or support systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with other development and integration team members to
ensure Java technologies are properly developed
* Develop business logic using Java/J2EE technologies and publish them
as Web Services
