Beware of  phone scams

Posted by: "robertjzanfardino" zanfardino4@earthlink.net   robertjzanfardino

Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:40 pm (PST)

Folks,

My neighborhood has been getting calls from a group calling themselves Total Survey Solutions. They are asking for information regarding my smoke alarms. Smoke alarms usually work with a burglar alarms. They claim they are working for the US Government. They will not provide any information about their company nor will they supply their phone number. Their phone numbers is blocked and *69 does not work. I was told by my phone company that *77 will force them to unlock their phone number if they wish to make a call to me.

They are very very aggressive and will not let it go. A friend who is a police officer has informed me that this is a way for crooks to find out if your house will be easy to break in. They have called me now 6 times in 2 days.

I know how this may sound, but you should never give out any information about yourself or your home.

Rob
