> Our client is seeking an enthusiastic individual who has a proven track
> record of being able to research and recommend network management tools
> and implement methodologies that best fit the needs of a global
> organization. The goal will be to drive effective monitoring, both
> pro-active and reactive, across a dynamic and complex voice and data
> network.
>
> Key Responsibility Areas
> * Manage and enhance capabilities of existing network management tools
> (e.g. Spectrum, e-Health) to facilitate quick identification and
> resolution of networking issues.
> * Identify overlap/gaps and research opportunities for tool
> enhancements together with the Operations and Engineering teams.
> * Partner closely with the Planning and Engineering groups to
> proactively understand network changes (upcoming circuit additions, device
> changes, branch openings). Ensure that these changes are reflected in the
> existing toolset(s) with the appropriate monitoring and alerting policies
> as soon as they go live.
> * Design, develop and fine-tune alerting threshold policies and
> alerting mechanisms to improve Operational efficiency, with a goal of
> reducing mean time to resolution.
> * Ensure the proper training/education for using the tool(s) is
> prepared and given to Global Infrastructure and Business Unit IT staff.
> * Develop and maintain centralized documentation on tool(s)
> configuration, thresholds and alerts.
> * Through innovation ensure that the company continues to stay ahead
> of the competition.

> Skills and Qualifications
> * BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline, or
> equivalent experience working in a large enterprise or ISP environment
> * Experienced in network technologies and disciplines : TCP/IP,
> routing protocols, switching.
> * Experience in performing tool consolidation and gap analysis for
> network management tools and providing solid recommendations
> * Experience in researching network management tools to analyze
> cost/benefit analysis of different tool suites
> * Deep experience in Network management tool configuration and
> maintenance
> * Background in performance analysis of voice and data networks,
> including Cisco and Juniper technologies
> * Experience in a Multi-national environment
> * Strongly self-motivated, highly adaptable and have excellent oral
> and written communication skills
> * Must be able to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
> * Ability to juggle multiple projects without losing focus
