Our client has offices all over the world and has the global reach, advisory services and distribution power to meet the needs of issuers and investors worldwide.
Location: Jersey City, NJ
The Compliance IT group provides global systems to detect and prevent financial crime, market manipulation and money laundering activity through the development and deployment of systems that meet or exceed guidance from regulatory authorities.
The group has 200+ members with teams based in London, New York, India, and Eastern Europe providing development and support activities
· The role is a senior technologist role (Lead Architect) with responsibility for the overall technical architecture of Compliance Technology. The successful candidate will play a key role in architecting, guiding and supporting the delivery of strategic Compliance IT platforms.
· The successful candidate will need to form effective working relationships with business sponsors, stakeholders in other technology functions, as well as colleagues in project and programme management roles to facilitate realization of the delivery objectives of the department.
· In addition to extensive technical and design skills, the Architect will also require excellent communication and influencing skills.
· The role will report directly to the Global Head of Compliance IT
Responsibilities:
· Work with Compliance Business and Compliance Change Management teams to define and document future state architecture using appropriate data model/lifecycle tools.
· Lead the definition and realization of future state Compliance data architecture
· Drive the evaluation and adoption of appropriate technologies to ensure timely delivery, stability, maintainability, performance and scalability of systems as well as end user experience.
· Own delivery of non-functional requirements for programs in the Compliance book of work.
· Perform cost-benefit analysis to evaluate trade-offs between various tactical and strategic choices.
· Engage in hands on design, architecture and data model reviews with teams executing programs in the Compliance book of work.
· Serve as a coach and mentor for high performing specialists in the Compliance IT team
Essential
· Significant working experience in a major investment bank, regulatory agency or other large institution
· Track record of successful delivery of substantial projects
· Experience working within a matrix management model or cross departmental model
· Experience working with an offshore team
· Excellent senior stakeholder management skills
Preferred
· Delivered Compliance technology projects
· Has run captive and/or in-house software development projects
· Has delivered a technical architecture as part of a multi-site team
· Systems Architect
· Substantial hands on experience in logical and physical data modeling.
· Detailed technical understanding of SQL Server, Oracle, C#, C++ and at least one messaging platform.
· Exposure to a wide range of technical architectures combined with deep hands on experience in a specific technical skill set.
· Exposure to Compliance systems (Mantas, Actimize, ArcLogics, Star Compliance, Others...)
· Knowledge of US and/or UK regulatory and governing bodies. (SEC,FSA,FRBNY, FINRA,SIPIC)
· Integration experience
