PRESENTATION TOPIC – BODY LANGUAGE

It seems surprising, when we first realize that the words
we use count for only 8-10% of our communication and the rest of the message
you are communicating 90% of it is via your body language. Now the question
is...are you communicating a consistent message?  Because if you are not...it
is being read by others that something is not accurate in what you are saying.
This can and often does impact your interview results. We think we can cover
our feelings and uncertainty with words, but interviewers can read us like an
open book by simply noticing the slight movement of a hand, the raising of an
eyebrow or the set of our stance, the unconscious tics that betray our true
feelings.
Some people, have an innate understanding that body
language is the most powerful and important form of communication. We all know
someone who talks about a 'gut feeling'. Just another way unconscious
component's describe the reading of else's body language, when mixed messages
are received. Or a message where the words and the body language do not match.
What mixed messages are you sending to others in life or in your interviews?
We've all met people who seem to control a room from
the moment they walk in, people who radiate power and confidence with a firm
handshake and a steady gaze. Whether they're doing it consciously or
unconsciously, but these people are masters of communication through body
language. These people understand, whether consciously or not, that body
language matters. They also understand that noticing the body language of
others helps us understand how others are feeling and more importantly what
they're thinking.
This ability, allows them to gain insights into the
thoughts and feelings of those around us. This is a skill that can be learned,
and one that can have an enormous impact on every relationship as well as
getting the job.
Having the ability to read body language can make a huge
difference in a successful interview. 90% of the message you send is
transmitted via body language and ONLY 10% via the words! So what messages are
you sending during your interviews? We will discuss body language cues and help
you understand how to read the body language of others. Knowing what to look
for and how to use this information can be helpful in your getting hired. Being
able to understand body language can help you ace a job interview and it can
help you excel at reaching your goals.
In this presentation you will learn what body language is,
how to read body language, the power of first impressions,. Don't shake another
hand until you have learned all you can from the information in this presentation.
