Network
Security- Emerging Trends & Best Practices - Anthony Fama
======================================
Viruses
may be mostly a thing of the past. But the 'bad guys' have found a multitude of
other ways of breaching an organization's network security and gaining access
to critical data. Cross-site scripting attacks is the primary methodology used
for this purpose. Mr. Fama will explain cross-site scripting as well as other
methodologies developed for the purpose of breaching an organization's network.
He will also provide an in-depth presentation on best practices and methodology
for improving network security.

THE
SPEAKER
=========
Antony
Fama is
the Director of Network Security and Data Communications at Computer Integrated
Services (CIS), an integrated IT solutions company. He holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Polytechnic University. He
also holds an MBA in Economics and an MS in Theoretical Astrophysics. He has
over 30 years of experience in information technology and data security and has
been a featured speaker at many security related events. Mr. Fama has served as
CIO and CTO for several IT solution providers and privately held financial
institutions. He has designed and implemented hundreds of data networks on
multiple continents and has industry certifications from Cisco, Sun, Novell and
Oracle.

PRESIDENT'S
COMMENTS
================
Last
month our speaker's presentation was on the topic of facial recognition
technology. It appears that the timing for this topic could not have been much
better. Although it was questionable on how much it helped, facial recognition
was used in the search for the Boston bombers. For many people, it was the
first time they became aware of the impact this technology has and will have on
law enforcement. Also, the State of NY Division of Motor Vehicles recently
announced that the use of facial recognition resulted in over 2,500 arrests
since 2010 of people for identity fraud.

Just a
reminder, the cost of the meeting includes a buffet dinner. We
will continue to order from the menu only when our meetings are held at
Johnston's Steak House.

Alperti's
is relatively easy to get to from most areas in central NJ, which is one reason
why it was selected in hopes of attracting ITers from that area to our Chapter
meetings. I urge you to take advantage of the networking and educational
opportunities we offer and attend. Thanks.

Repeating
my comment from last month, the Chapter officers have decided to propose
(target) topics for the rest of the year(see Future Meetings below) and are
encouraging our members and friends to suggest alternatives to that shown if
they feel it would improve the lineup. All suggestions will be given
consideration and changes could be made.

We
are pleased to have a representative from CIS provide this month's
presentation. CIS is a nationwide consulting company that provides IT services
relating to identity and access management, disaster recovery and business
continuity, centralized management of resources, network security,
infrastructure design and other support services.

The
Breakfast Club NJ Presents: Joe
Himelfarb - “Selling You, Inc.”
Saturday
May 11, 2013 at 8:00 am
It is not too late to plan to
attend NEXT Saturday's Meeting of The Breakfast Club
NJ, Saturday May 11, 2013 at 8:00 am.

Spring is clearly here and summer is just around the corner. While you may be sprucing up the lawn and planting
some flowers, don’t forget to take some time to spruce up your own personal
image.
Get up early this
Saturday to get yourself going, if you don't you will have missed out on
an opportunity to learn how to sell yourself.
Please share with other groups
you may be in.
The Presentation:
Aristotle believed an important
skill any person could have was the ability to influence.
Have you ever had to convince
your colleagues, department heads, or company executives to try a different
tactic in acquiring new business? Ever tried to get your customers to buy your
stuff? Ever tried to get your kids to behave a certain way? Ever go on a job interview?
Join us for a thought provoking
and highly interactive program that will demystify your views of selling and
help you to better sell yourself.
Learn how you can apply the
theories and techniques of selling as you search for work (Hint: no rocket
science involved, but Rocket Scientists can surely benefit).
Hear new ideas about old job
search techniques that can help focus your attention on the job at hand.
Learn how to put a different
spin on the activities you currently perform so you can distinguish yourself
from the other applicants vying for the position you want.
Make the person interviewing
you feel glad they met you. And make
your new employer wonder how they ever got along without you.
It’s an hour you don't want to
miss!
About the Speaker:
Joe Himelfarb (his friends call
him Joey) has been selling for over 20 years. Whether it’s multi-million dollar
computing and telecommunications systems to Fortune 100 companies around the
world, or consumer products in a homeowner’s backyard or driveway, Joe enjoys
helping his clients get from where they are to where they want to be.
Joe's passion is being on stage
and encouraging people to maintain positive mental attitudes. Joe's contention
is that we sell everyday and being negative serves no function. To that end,
and on a regular basis, Joe facilitates seminars to unemployed individuals as
well as small business owners.
Most people who have
participated in these seminars have learned new tactics for selling themselves
in their professional and personal lives. And some attendees have actually seen
and heard a unique similarity between Joe's style and presentation with a
famous comedian who has had success hosting several Oscar Award Show
Ceremonies.
Meeting
Information:
Networking
begins at 7:30 am, meeting starts promptly at 8:00 am.
There is
a $10 fee at the door to cover the cost of the room.
Be
sure to tell your friends and bring them along. Be a part of our growing
network of Job Seekers, Hiring Managers, Recruiters, Career Coaches, and people
who want to be able to help themselves and each other.
