inVentiv Health is seeking a Finance Project Manager to be a part of the Corporate Finance and Accounting team. The Project Manager will have a strong understanding of processes within a large corporate environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated project management skills and be able to work independently with little supervision. The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Global Business Services and work with members of corporate and business management and the company's executive team.

As a member of the Finance Team, role will be focused on multiple projects to include Systems Migration, Office Location Moves, Procure to Pay as well as other similar projects.

This person will look at enterprise wide initiatives and manage a number of projects that we are launching. These projects are mostly in the finance and accounting space. We will be consolidating various systems (resulting from acquisitions) into one system. For example, one project will be to combine many account payables systems into one. We are also looking to combine into one GL system and there are many more areas of consolidation. This is a high visability position.

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, including defining scope, deliverables and criteria for project success
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Identify change management activities and work-streams needed across the organization
  • Plan and schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Work with business leader to develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in the field of Finance, Accounting or IT
  • 10+ years direct work experience in a Finance, Accounting, Business Analyst or related capacity with sound background in Accounting and Finance.
  • 5+ years Project Management experience, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Strong Best Practice experience along with strong process documentation
  • Experience and background with ERP, Expense Management Systems, PeopleSoft and or procure to Pay systems.
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, Clarity PPM, PeopleSoft Financials and HRIS modules
  • Competent and proficient understanding of Sharepoint
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
