Senior Project/System Engineer Manager, small and growing 200 person medical device company, position reports to COO

An ideal candidate for our Senior Project/System Engineer Manager position is an individual who has the ability to prioritize and multitask, is experienced in complex system design, is a strong team player, and possesses strong organizational and communication skills.

Job Description:
- Design and develop complex systems by analyzing user requirements, determining system specifications, identify risks/parameters to deliver specialized software
- Complete system level architecture design and product/technology roadmap (including prototyping when applicable) by designing product specifications and feature requirements
- Define resources, budget estimates, milestone/timeline tracking, issue identification, issue resolution, and release plan to ensure deadlines are complied with
- Collaborate with product management/development team to design product specifications and feature requirements

Core Requirements:
-Bachelors' degree in computer science, electrical engineering or software engineering or at least 6+ years demonstrated experience in advanced technology project management
- Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with customers, staff, and colleagues
Team player/leader who is able to motivate and focus other team members
- Self starter with the ability to determine problem resolution by identifying product enhancements to reach customer demands
- Superb verbal and written communication skill set

Executive Director/VP, IT Regulatory & R&D Systems, Parsippany, NJ, 200K+ base + bonus, pharmaceutical company

The Executive Director will be responsible for recommending, developing, implementing and monitoring all business systems across the enterprise for the R&D, Quality and Regulatory Affairs global functions. In addition, he/she will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all cGxP requirements across the IT organization and will direct the efforts of the Computer Validation staff under supervision. The Executive Director will be required to work closely with all IT, business functions and senior management to deliver enterprise business system solutions that will enable the business to deliver on short and long term strategic goals and objectives.

A key focus of this role will be to develop a comprehensive cGxP applications strategy in conjunction with the overall IT strategy, developing a road map, and outlining and executing a plan that will achieve the strategic goals. This role will also investigate industry trends and key research bodies and provide guidance and recommendations to senior management.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
• Recommending, developing, implementing and monitoring application systems, tools, standards and procedures.
• Work closely with all IT and business functions to define technical standards for all core application systems that will be used to make strategic decisions with customers.
• Responsible for understanding the business use of applications and providing the best, most cost-effective solutions.
• Establish the stewardship for applications governance and architecture process and control procedures for his/her respective functional areas of responsibility.
• Work with the IT teams to consolidate redundant application technologies including cost benefit analysis and establish controlling procedures for introduction of new application technologies across the organization.
• Evaluate potential impacts on business unit operations when new application systems and technologies are introduced.
• Participates with vendors in the assessment of application technologies, tools, methodologies, sourcing, etc.
• Investigate industry trends and new technologies, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management.
• Provide consulting to project teams, and perform assessments of infrastructure and application assets, identifying potential and actual system risks and recommending corrective measures.
• Perform all activities in compliance with the internal and external requirements/standards controls.
• Under limited direction, provide functional leadership to a team of business functional analysts and system developers to deliver and support strategic company and functional objectives.
• Possess extensive project management experience; ensures that tasks are completed on time and on budget.
• Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
• Communicates with internal and external resources to ensure project success. Manages against project plans.
• Oversees, participates and approves the interviewing, hiring, and training of departmental employees; conducts performance evaluations for direct reports; and assists direct report, managers with performance evaluation process for their units.
• Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications:
- Must have a solid understanding of system applications needed to support the manufacturing, distribution, and financial information needs of a pharmaceutical company
- Pharmaceutical/distribution/manufacturing environment and policies and procedures.
- Extensive Quality Management, R&D, and Regulatory systems knowledge.
- Providing excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task to resolve critical issues. Manage complex projects and track against expectations.
- Effectively interface with senior management and subject matter experts.
- Capable of developing structured workplans and associated budgets linked to corporate requested initiatives.
- Ability to implement new applications while simultaneously supporting/optimizing those that are already in use.
- Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an acceptable timeframe.
- Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems.

Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited college or university, and ten(10) or more year's directly related and progressively responsible experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
