SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This is a senior leadership position in which the SVP Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for leading select key cross functional corporate initiatives, as well as establishing and managing a corporate governance model to drive successful project outcomes.
The position requires significant interactions with cross functional department leads and team members to ensure critical projects are meeting timelines and milestone commitments. The scope of responsibility will include developing, implementing and controlling best practices for program management including managing the project portfolio, holding regular forums, and directing projects to completion, while ensuring consistency with the core strategic goals of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead select key cross functional corporate initiatives to a successful outcome, including ensuring each project meets key milestones and timelines, while achieving planned outcomes.
* Develop and implement best practices, techniques and tools to be used in project planning, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication and measuring key performance metrics.
* Implement and oversee a new governance model and process to prioritize key initiatives, as well as providing oversight to select key strategic initiatives.
* Provide regular status updates on key initiatives to senior management, including achievement of project milestones, timeline and scope, as well as costs and achievement of financial targets.
* Work with project management leads across the company to consolidate and standardize project management practices and tools.
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project management team leads and members.
* Manage working relationships with senior and mid-level executives to achieve project success.
* Evaluate project flows according to timelines and budgets; recommend budget changes where necessary.
* Create and deliver executive level presentations regarding the status of key initiatives and the project portfolio. Drive key project decisions with senior executives.
* Work cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities, solve problems and implement changes.
* Demonstrate communication effectiveness and good project management discipline.
* Monitor resource constraints affecting the completion of projects within the portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS:
Skills and Knowledge
* Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and lead a high performance organization.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively set, manage and deliver to business expectations.
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Individual should possess strong PM discipline and experience establishing PMO standards and processes.
* Individual should possess strong relationship management skills working with senior and mid-level executives with various backgrounds.
* Agnostic approach to decision making and aligning desired outcomes to corporate goals.
* Proven record of collaboratively working across functional boundaries.
* Strategic business focus and understanding; customer-focused perspective.
* Individual should be comfortable "player/coach" role, actively managing projects while overseeing governance of the remaining portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree with minimum of 12-15 years managing large and global complex programs/projects.
* PMP or equivalent experience.
* Past experience required in implementation of project portfolio governance models.
* Experience working with C-level individuals with ability to drive decision making.
* Specific sector experience not required.
* Experience working within and leading large teams designed to execute upon core strategic goals of the company.
* Past project portfolio should include, but is not limited to:
o Process improvement initiatives, including operational and business process re-design
o M&A integration
o Large technology implementation projects
o Project office creation
