1. My client is looking for a Lead software developer/architect to join an exciting new application development team to support their investment research, due diligence and portfolio analytics processes. It is a total green field where the application development team will design and build the research and portfolio analysis platform from ground up. The systems will help investment research, due diligence, multi-asset class portfolio analysis and reporting. The candidate will be involved in working with business users directly, design, implementing and testing cycles of the full SDLC.
Senior Software Developer and Architect – total comp is between $200k-$275k – but will remain open to seeing lighter and heavier people. 
·         Ideally has experience on Windows platform.   Is a thinker and can challenge status quo or ideas about developing the platform.  Comfortable with working with large amounts of data.   Ideally has financial/accounting systems experience.·         Does not have to be out of a bank with asset management experience. 
Duties and Responsibilities: • Work with other team member and business users to understand the requirements and be able to design and translate into technical deliverables. • Develop brand new research platform that includes manager/fund information tracking, CRM, call notes and interactions. • Design and implement the backend and middle tier application components to ensure system efficiency, reusability, maintainability. • Design and implement efficient, flexible, fast response reporting platform for business team to run canned and adhoc reports. • Work with the application development manager and CIO to understand the strategic business direction, have ability to manage the balance between tactical solutions vs strategic build. • Establish robust testing framework and structure efficient UAT process. • Provide documentation and system support.
Candidate Qualifications: • 8-10 years of hands on development experience with broad technology programming spectrum. • Proven track record in delivering high quality asset management applications. • Professional experience with design and architect enterprise level systems. • Strong OOO design skills with extensive knowledge of object modeling and design patterns. • Agile master who can step up for day to day agile development management. • Must be test driven software developer who ensures the highest software quality possible. • Extensive knowledge with SQL on any relational database server, such as SQL server. Strong database design with passion in building high speed portfolio reporting system. Location - NYC
2. VP - DIRECTOR OF IT - $250k with 45% bonus  
Senior level position responsible for ensuring that the company maintains a competitive advantage through the strategic use of technology initiatives by leading integrated, full life-cycle systems development projects which realize and support business strategies.  The position reports to EVP and Chief Information Officer of parent company.
Defines, establishes and leads IT team responsible for implementation of insurance application platform. Responsible for identifying and developing information from external sources and the use of such information in the primary insurance business. Identifies changes in computer and systems technology and communicates these changes to senior management. Leads the insurance application selection, implementation, project management, business analysis and testing.  Provides support to business users and determines information needs.  Identifies systems software and infrastructure requirements necessary for the successful integration of information systems.  Manages the data integration with MGA/MGU affiliates. Coordinates through subordinate staff the operations of the technology functions on a day-to-day basis.  Participates in strategic and operational governance processes of the division. 
Minimum of 15 years professional experience in insurance business and technology experience is required.   Experience in establishing insurance application implementation and support teams is preferred. Experience in a MGA/MGU environment is a plus. (managing general agent (MGA)  - A specialized type of insurance agent/broker that, unlike traditional agents/brokers, is vested with underwriting authority from an insurer. Accordingly, MGAs perform certain functions ordinarily handled only by insurers, such as binding coverage, underwriting and pricing, appointing retail agents within a particular area, and settling claims. Typically, MGAs are involved with unusual lines of coverage, such as professional liability and surplus lines of insurance, in which specialized expertise is required to underwrite the policies.)

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts
Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, technical information to senior level executives in a simple and understandable format
Proficient in MS SQL (2008, 2012), DB architecture theory and implementation
