Judy Scherer, a a widely-acclaimed counselor and strategist, has helped thousands of people in transition land satisfying and successful jobs during her 14 years in business. She is presenting a talk on The Hidden Job Market: Emerging Occupations at two venues next week: Wednesday, September 17th from 7 to 9 pm at the Gen Y Networking Group at the Library of the Chathams at 214 Main St, Chatham and at the JCC in Whippany on Thursday, September 18 at 9:30-11:30 at 901 Route 10 in Whippany. BIO
She has worked in private practice, outplacement and as a volunteer career coach to Jewish Vocational Services, United Way and Dress for Success. With a masters in career counseling from NYU and one in city planning/economic development from Harvard, she is uniquely qualified to clarify clients' direction, targets, strategy, and job search and advancement. In several national and international reports, as well as blogs, Ms. Scherer has written extensively on the changing U.S. and U.K. job markets.

OVERVIEW
In her presentation, The New Hidden Job Market: Emerging and Mature Occupations, Judy Scherer lays out effective strategies for landing jobs, advancing careers and entering new fields. She teaches the audience strategies that address the different kinds of occupations –and how to adapt their resumes and Linked In profiles, networking and interviewing -- to be successful. By the end of the talk, participants will understand: the importance of a compelling and credible career narrative, ways to land the job they want and avoid dead-end jobs, and how others have entered a variety of careers.
