Key Financial Planning Considerationsfor Those in a Career Transition

Thispresentation will cover a number of strategies to consider to help withcash flow during a career transition.  The focus will be on thosestrategies that may not be well known or understood.  Topics willinclude:  Medical Insurance through the Affordable Care Act, impactof part time wages on unemployment compensation, pros and cons of rolling overa 401k/403b, tax implications of drawing down Rothand traditional IRA's, tax deductibility of jobhunting expenses, strategies to take advantage of lower marginal taxrates during the transition period etc.

 
 Our Moderator: Bill LaChance is an independent financial advisor based inChatham NJ.  Bill offers a unique flat fee program and focuseshis practice those going through or contemplating a careertransition (job change, second career, early retirement etc.). Prior tolaunching his financial planning practice, Bill spent twenty two years incorporate finance in the retail industry and before that was a CPA with alarge accounting firm.   Bill has a B.S. in Accounting from BryantUniversity, an MBA in Finance from Indiana University and completed theFinancial Planning Certificate program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Bill is also an Enrolled Agent authorized to represent taxpayersbefore the IRS and provides tax consulting and preparationservices.

Meeting Format:

7:30 to 8:00 –Registration &OpenNetworking

8:00 to 8:15 - Welcome andhousekeeping

8:15 to 9:15 – Presentation bythe guest speaker – Limited to 60 minutes

9:15 to 10:15 - Elevator Pitch -30 Seconds about yourself, who you are, what you are looking for, targetcompanies (3-4), how we can help you, how you can help others.  Follow the rule of the Three B's of PublicSpeaking: Be informative; Be brief; Be seated.

10:15 until  you choose toleave  -  Open Networking, follow up with people you are interestedin meeting following their elevator pitch, exchange business cards, peruse thelibrary, arrange follow up meetings, etc.

1 - Make sure you comewith the 30 second elevator pitch - honed - including your targeted companies,your value proposition, etc.

2 - If you are not already amember of our Meetup.com and Facebook groups please join

3 - Once linked to our groups -link to each other - a strong network is a vital component to a successful jobsearch
