Specific Responsibilities:
• Have an understanding of the drivers & key requirements of the communications industry.
• Grow and manage a team of project managers, providing project management for cross-organisationa l projects. Project management here involves scoping, planning, costing, resourcing, risk assessing, tracking and executing activities, as well as reporting and production of executive-level reports & status dashboards.
• Strong communication at all levels is particularly important
• Define good, pragmatic Project Management processes and ensure they are followed
• Identify appropriate tools to allow appropriate visibility of status of all activities.
• Ensure work is executed in a structured fashion, with on-time delivery of program products to the required quality levels.
• Where required, assist in quality audits in line with best practices
• Liaise appropriately with internal partners, external contacts & customers.
• As the project teams are resourced by members across the globe, it is important that the candidate have the flexibility to adjust working times to cater for the various time zones.
Skill Requirements
• Strong Project Planning & Management and Risk Management Skills
• Line-management experience, and the ability to provide coaching, mentoring and guidance for members of the team.
• Have the ability to multi-task across and manage multiple large and complex projects concurrently in a rapidly changing environment.
• Be highly committed, results driven and customer focused
• Strong team-working abilities and flexibility to work with people in remote locations on varied time zones with different cultural backgrounds
• Have strong leadership abilities
• Have excellent communication and influencing skills
• The ability to interact across all levels of Technology
• Understanding of the communications industry would be an advantage
• Good problem solving abilities and ability to work on own initiative.
• Technical competence in Microsoft Office suite of tools, Project Management tools, community environments and ability to manipulate/operate new software tooling with basic instructions.
• Willingness to conduct foreign travel if required.
