Jr Network Administrator
Newark, NJ.

Our client is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Newark, is the state's largest health insurer. There goal is the same as it has been since 1932 – to provide individuals and employers in New Jersey with convenient access to quality health care, wherever they live or work.
 
 
Our client is looking for a Network Administrator to provide support for 24 x 7 x 365 distributed wintel and unix platform datacenter supporting over 1000 plus servers. Candidates will be required to provide level 1 and level 2 supports to datacenter operations, which may including monitoring systems, building and provisioning systems, providing application support, assets management, and participate in enterprise projects. 
 
 
Candidate must have experience with the following hardware platform:
• HP Proliant (all generations), firmware upgrades, Drivers, etc.
• IBM X series
• HP Storage (EVA, EMA, MSA, etc)
• EMC Storage Arrays
 
Candidate has to be well versed in the following areas of Datacenter Operations:
• Thorough understanding of following operating systems Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003
(Familiarity with the following system will be a plus: SUN Solaris, ESX VMWARE, and Linux)
 
• Good understanding of networking protocol such at TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS, SNMP, OSI layers, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VLANs, telnet, FTP, Secure FTP, VPN, HTTP, and HTTPS, Load Balancers (F5, Radware, Cisco, and NLB) is a plus
 
• Understanding of technologies such as Internet Information Servers (IIS), SQL servers, Clusters, Application servers, Distributed Computing platforms with COM+ applications, BizTalk, Dot Net, Terminal Services, backup systems such as Commvault, Veritas Netbackup, and others.
 
• Solid understanding of windows infrastructure including Active Directory, NT domains, Batch and scripting, WMI, Security Updates, service packs, Altiris Imaging, and day to day operations within infrastructure.
 
 
 
Candidates will be expected to troubleshoot issues over the phone, provide customer support to internal and external users, and escalate issues via change management and predefined procedures. Must be able to work independently and follow thru on all projects and task assigned. Must be willing to adjust to flexible work schedule and ability to work weekend and holidays.
 
Candidates must have cluster experience including strong troubleshooting skills in a distributed computing wintel infrastructure.
Must be a self starter with minimal supervision.
