Tasks include:

Develop knowledge of competition in the marketplace and the overall industry

Conduct business with existing vendors and new vendors

Examine, select, order merchandise

Negotiate prices and terms with manufacturers

Communicate with warehouse, receiving and store personnel

Prepares various reports for management

Communicate with Customs Brokers

Manage catalog bill backs

Monitors stock levels via inventory reports for present sell-through

Reconcile invoices, purchase orders and resolve discrepancies

Essential experience and skills:

Prior buying experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Good computer skills
Trustworthy and professional
Self-motivated
Tobacco knowledge a plus
Custom transportation knowledge a plus
Bi-lingual a plus
