We currently have a full time permanent opportunity for a Business Intelligence
Manager at a major company in King of Prussia, PA.  This position is responsible
for managing a BI reporting team and working closely with the Data Warehouse
team in the support and continued development of Business Intelligence solutions
to support the strategic goals of the company and our partners.
 
 
Qualifications:
* 7+ years of practical experience in Data Warehousing and Reporting Management
* Strong experience with relational data base technology supporting data
warehouses/BI reporting – e.g. Oracle, DB2
* General Management experience within in a technology organization –
schedules, vacations, budget tracking, interviewing/hiring, and forecasting
demand for resources operating across multiple parallel projects.
* Deep experience with reporting and analytics tools (e.g. Business
Objects/Crystal reports, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Sagent, SAS)
* e-Commerce , CRM and Supply Chain Management experience preferred
* Experience with some or all of these techniques preferred - interactive and
statistical analytics, reporting, dashboards, scorecards, alerts, packaged
analytics.
* BA/BS in Computer Science, Business or related field
* Strong understanding of relational database concepts – data modeling, SQL,
query optimization, data warehouse architecture
* Strong analytical skills
* Experience in project management and SDLC methodologies preferred
* Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to multitask and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in BI (Business Intelligence) & Statistical Applications, CRM
packages, data warehousing methodologies & related tools such as ERwin, OLAP
Analytics, Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and Sagent are highly desirable.
Experience with determining requirements, evaluating vendors, and playing a key
role in a tool selection project effort
 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
* Working with business teams to determine business intelligence reporting
requirements for both internal company users as well as company partners
(external customers)

* The design and generation of reports; data integrity and security; and
supporting data administration.

* Satisfy business unit and enterprise information needs through the
application of data warehousing technologies and tools.

* Ensure all projects and efforts within the team are in alignment with the
company business strategy.

* Support and assist team members to meet project objectives and schedules and
operational SLAs.

* Work closely with the data warehouse ETL manager and data warehouse support
team including  ETL developers and data warehouse architect

* Support existing data warehouse/BI reporting platform and application to
ensure operational availability and scalability

* Coordination of a 24/7 rotating on-call support team that has responsibility
for the health and stability of the internal/external reporting
content/infrastructure
* Manage off-shore resources and provide oversight of their responsibilities in
monitoring nightly DW processes
* Lead the team in production support in triaging, diagnosing and remediating
production defects.  Identify ways to prevent production support issues and
improved the quality of the production DW/ETL/BI platform.
* Serve as a "technical backstop" to report developers to resolve day-to-day
code performance issues and design hurdles. Requires hands-on SQL experience,
knowledge of the internal workings of a BI tool and related database tuning best
practices.
* Interface with the DBA team to tune the data warehouse reporting environment
and plan for capacity increases
