The American Airlines Jetstream program is looking for a Migration Systems Analyst who will participate in a large cross-functional team of business and IT representatives to support AA’s activities in the development of a new large scale system. The Migration Systems Analyst will work with the IT team, project teams supporting the interfacing systems and other vendors to document data sources to be migrated from the legacy system to the new platform. Experience with various data structures and types as well as methods and scheduling of data migration is critical. This position reports regularly to management on migration strategy, challenges and project status. Other duties include documenting the existing environment and development of strategy and tasks describing the technical and business functions involved. Must have a proven ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently and successfully while promoting new processes, tools and methodologies. Having the ability to keep complex efforts moving forward quickly while exercising an appropriate level of discipline is required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of travel and transportation systems on a variety of computing platforms including Linux, Unix, z/OS and TPF
Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills as well as the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
Excellent verbal/written communication and facilitation skills
Superior analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in high volume messaging systems
Experience with large legacy system migrations
Knowledge of BPM and SOA based technologies
Knowledge of data structures (XML/Schema) and experience with data transformation and movement methods and tools (e.g. ETL tools, data appliances)
An understanding and/or development experience in XML, SOAP, UDDI, J2EE, .Net, WS-Security, ITIL processes, SOA Governance, Web Services Management tools, and Object Oriented Programming
Visio, WebSphere Integration Developer, XMLSpy, Rational Software Architect, etc.)
