The Vice President of Engineering will be a member of the executive team and will report directly to the President. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10-15 years Engineering experience, obtained in a manufacturing industry. He/She will have demonstrated and successful background and possess managerial experience. VICE PRESIDENT of ENGINEERING - SOUTHERN OHIO
Basic Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Engineering will be the senior Engineering executive responsible for directing all engineering functions leading to the most advantageous allocation of technical resources supporting the company's strategic and annual growth plans.

In this role, the VP of Engineering will oversee Research and Development, Engineering Project Management, Engineering Design, Engineering Testing and Product Management functions. The position requires both a strategic and an operations perspective, proactively identifying potential opportunities for the business.

The successful candidate will act as a true business partner with the company's President on all decisions related to the operation of the company. As a member of senior management, the Vice President of Engineering will work on business strategy and lead the technical side of the business.

Directly supervises employees in Engineering. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Additionally, the Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for:

* Managing the continuous improvement of the design of our products to improve reliability and cost.
* Leading our innovation efforts and drive our organization to think in terms of solving problems related to real life applications.
* Increasing the focus on Safety and Housekeeping in Engineering.
* Developing and Maintaining a robust new product development and engineering change process.
* Ensuring product design integrity and compliance to industry standards.
* Protecting our designs and managing the patent process.
* Coordinating and controlling all agency listing requirements.
* Managing product liability and representing the company in investigating and defending liability claims.
* Developing strong functional leaders and a viable succession plan.
* Managing international engineering resources.
* Coordinating the Engineering&#39;s function in leading implementation of new products and services.
* Providing overall leadership to employees, successfully motivating, coaching, and infusing spirit to positively impact the business' bottom line.
* Ensuring the Company reaches agreed upon gross margin targets that reflect the annual and longer-term profitability plans.
* Other duties as required.

* Excellent communication skills and the presence and innate ability to represent the company in a wide variety of forums.
* The capacity for strategic positioning and strategic thinking with strong operations management abilities.
* An entrepreneurial instinct balanced by mature understanding of financial instruments and negotiations.

Education:
The successful candidate will be required to have an undergraduate degree in an Engineering related discipline. An MBA is desirable.
