Opportunity with a leading manufacturer of high-tech industrial products. Requires min. 5 years of corporate tax experience.

Basic function:
·         Perform companys state tax compliance function, including primary preparation
of consolidated/ combined state tax returns as well as assisting the
federal compliance process.
·          Assist the Manager State Taxes with the companys state tax compliance function and in responding to state audits and notices.
·          Assist and guide other staff members of the department.
·          Contribute to tax planning and savings through innovative ideas.

 Responsibilities and Duties:
·          Prepare portions of the companys consolidated Federal tax return including:
1. Compute certain book/tax adjustments (i.e., Schedule M-3 adjustments).
2. Prepare / Review separate entity pro forma Forms 1120
3. Prepare / Review Sub-consolidated pro forma Forms 1120
·          Prepare companys consolidated / combined State Tax returns including:
1. Review and analyze all state apportionment data from all business units tax binders.
2. Maintain nexus study analysis book in order to maintain registrations and withdrawals up to date as well as filing positions.
3. Prepare what if analysis when applicable due to company mergers and or changes to state tax law.
4. Review separate company/P.L. 86-272 state returns.
5. Responsible for maintaining state tax payments.
6. Responsible for filings of New York and Connecticut Sales Tax returns
7. Responsible for filings state of Ohio CAT and miscellaneous annual reports.
·          Utilize and maintain all state-related applications within OneSource RS tax compliance software.
·         Prepare state quarterly estimated tax payments and extension.
·          Assist with the year-end tax provision computation for federal and state;
assist with the quarterly tax provision computations as needed.
·         Assist with the administration of OneSource tax calendar
·          Oversee annual report filings
·          Assist Manager State Taxes and Director of Taxes on various projects as assigned.
·          Administer state/local tax audits and respond to state/local tax notices.
·         Establish and maintain relationships with various accounting personnel at
operation locations and with the Executive Office, including the
Accounting, Treasury, Legal and HR departments.
·          Maintain in good standing the companys relationship with various taxing authorities.

Qualifications:
·         Minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience.
·          Bachelors degree in accounting with an advanced degree and/ or CPA desirable.
·          Experience with handling federal and state tax audits desirable.
·          Proficiency with One Source RS and OneSource Provision strongly preferred.
·         Knowledge of HFM reporting system.
·          Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc).
·         Ability to work for extended periods with limited supervision.
·         Ability to meet deadlines, working overtime when required.

Our client is seeking a Programmer/Business Analyst to provide support for
the Marketing Function System Team in the technical areas of ExtJS, PHP,
SCADA, PowerBuilder & SQL.

This is a 6-month contract assignment in Shelton, CT.

Candidates must have a minimum 3 years of technical experience in at least 2
