Position Summary

The Buyer will be a member of the Procurement Team and report in to the Procurement Manger. The position requires tactical execution of sourcing strategies aligned with the business requirements. Additionally, the position will support the implementation of sourcing strategies to achieve lowest total costs and quality improvement as well as contract negotiations.

General Duties and Responsibilities

1. Fulfills direct and indirect material requirements for domestic supplier of products and services on time in accordance with material planning and purchasing procedures.

2. Negotiates and implements lower purchasing prices on required supplier products and services.

3. Manages, implements, and maintains professional business relationships with FMSU suppliers to enhance purchasing quality, cost savings, and services.

4. Qualifies new suppliers and manages the performance of existing suppliers in accordance with supplier management procedure.

5. Manages and maintains supplier quality in accordance with supplier management procedure

6. Manages the introduction of new supplier products and services in accordance with the commercial component release and project management procedures.

7. Maintain and improve where possible daily tiered structure for the procurement process. Additionally strengthen & document escalation process.

8. Effective and timely communication with all groups within the organization or to external customers.

9. Submits timely reports as requested by Manager including FTYO cost savings reporting.

10. Keeps current on all business activities (product, pricing, mergers, buyouts, etc.) for assigned supplier base. Monitors supplier product pipeline changes managing supplier product end of life issues and the rollout of new supplier components. Coordinates the introduction of new supplier components with the Product Structure Specialist. Ensures no excess inventory or material shortages result from supplier product offering changes.

11. Assists Marketing and Engineering by contracting with suppliers for evaluation products in support of development of new FMSU products, as required.

12. Maintain suggested inventory levels by leveraging the system for efficient procurement planning activities.

13. Participates in assigned projects as a team player or project leader.

Minimum Requirements

* 5 years of global experience in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.

* Experience in healthcare/pharma is a plus

* Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft programs (Excel, Word) and SAP

* Successful use of decision-making and analytical skills.

* Excellent communication skills

* Strong preference for experience with third party contracts

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the development, management and leadership of Supplier Quality Management of group to FMSU.

General Duties and Responsibilities

* Provides direction on Supplier Quality Management strategy and direction to the Procurement group.

* Supplier Quality Management performance evaluation through Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and continuous improvement for highest effectiveness of the supplier quality management system.

* Manages and provide guidance and/or assist in defining, implementing and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions and supplier corrective action reports, ensure that adequate corrective action is put in place by suppliers and monitor effectiveness of same.

* Lead investigation of component/material quality issues as they arise - work with supply chain, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve issues and to disposition product.

* Assist Vendor Engineering Teams in the development of new supply sources - qualify component or process changes to specified parameters and within given timeframe / deadlines.

* Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvements of divisional supplier management policies and procedures.

* Promoting the Quality System within the Supply Base - working with Purchasing, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection and the business units to ensure that components meet our requirements.

* Support supplier quality rating to a level which allows certification or dock to stock programs to be implemented.

* Lead and manage the Supplier Quality Management group specifically in the following:

o Monitor supplier performance data to identify trends, analyze for opportunities for continuous improvement and implement supplier improvement actions.

o Participate in problem resolution of technical issues.

o Designing and implementing supplier quality assurance methods and metrics.

o Planning and maintaining an overall audit schedule of the site's suppliers.

o Evaluating proposed supplier process and product changes

o Recommend design or test methods for achieving product and process improvement.

o Support validation plans for new and substitute processes/materials/suppliers

o Work closely with suppliers globally and to execute Value Engineering/Component Engineering opportunities to take cost out of product

* This position requires at least 30% travel to perform quarterly supplier audits.

* Support non-inventory procurement activities for the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or related subject.

Experience:

* 8+ years relevant supplier quality experience in GMP manufacturing environment in Medical Device/Pharma industry.

* SAP experience is preferable.

* Extensive experience in defending supplier quality management during regulatory inspections. A Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from a recognized program would be desirable. Good Working Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices would be desirable ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQMOE) would be desirable.

Competencies:

* Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management roles preferred.

* Demonstrated track record in developing and delivering an efficient and integrated approach to supplier quality management.

* Proven to be self-directed, self-motivated and able to prioritize and resolve competing priorities.

* Demonstrated knowledge of current regulatory requirements pertaining to supplier quality management on within a pharma/medical device environment.

* The ability to continually adapt to a changing regulated environment and provide direction and guidance to best practices in supplier quality management.

* Good financial acumen and understanding of the requirements to manage the group within the financial constraints of a business.

* Demonstrated a proven track record in managing and working in teams utilizing risk management tools to effectively develop and organizes supplier quality management and risk mitigation activities.

* Demonstrated ability to lead teams to complete activities in effective and efficient manner

* Possess highly developed interpersonal skills.

* Be competent in meeting customer's requirements whilst managing their overall expectations.

* A working knowledge of Statistical techniques and analysis would be desirable.
