Quarterly Executive Networking Breakfast at Greenwich Hyatt for
Tuesday May 18th
<<Invitation.pdf>>

_________________________________________________________________\
_________

Please find the attached invitation for our quarterly "Executive
Networking Breakfast" held at the Greenwich Hyatt at 1800 East
Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06870 on Tuesday, May 18th from
8:00AM-11:15AM.

This is the 30th event we have facilitated since 2002. Our
previous events were received with tremendous openness and
success; we have had over 1700 senior level executives attend
from diverse backgrounds such as finance, accounting, human
resources, marketing, technology, law, publishing, engineering,
and research. At our last event in February, more than 75
executives attended. At our 4 breakfasts in 2009, we hosted
approximately 75-100 attendees per event with an average waiting
list of 25-50 people. Since 2007, we've reached our
capacity limit 3 weeks prior to the event. Therefore, please
respond immediately if you are interested.

It has been researched and documented that greater than 80% of
senior-level job opportunities are discovered via networking.
Our goal is to create a fun and informative environment to
facilitate such networking and executive learning. Part of the
session will be "speed networking," where participants will meet
individuals like themselves to uncover potential ideas and
opportunities.

For this event, we will be welcoming first time speaker, Mercer
Field. Mercer has coached more than a thousand executives over
20 years as they have run and grown organizations across all
industries, and has also supported extraordinary career
transitions. She founded Core Value Coaching because she
believes the human contribution is the most important in
business. Mercer will define for us the full networking and
marketing process, and challenge our perceptions and raise our
commitments to making a larger difference within targeted
organizations.

Additionally, we will be welcoming back Paul Bailo, who received
tremendous feedback at our February event for his excellent
presentation. Paul Bailo MBA, MSW, Ph.D. (candidate) is the
founder and CEO of Phone Interview Pro – a service for job
seekers who want to perfect their telephone job interviewing
skills. Paul recognized that while resume, interview
preparation, and target company research assistance are commonly
offered by outplacement and career counseling organizations, the
importance of the telephone interview is often overlooked. In
response to this, Phone Interview Pro has created a 250+ point
phone evaluation not seen in the career services industry...until
now! Paul will be discussing some of these evaluation points and
methods on how individuals in transition can hone their phone
interview skills.

Please RSVP to Chris Phillips by calling (203) 861-5976 or
emailing christopher_phillips@ml.com
<mailto:christopher_phillips@ml.com> with your name, phone
number, address, and a copy of your resume. Your resume is
requested so we can ensure qualification. We welcome you to this
free event and look forward to meeting you.

Networking

One of the most effective ways to expand your circle of influence
is through networking. Word of mouth can enhance not only your
potential to discover opportunity, but it also can facilitate
opportunity to discover you. Executive networking seeks to bring
together experience-intensive individuals to interact with
professionals of similar career levels from different industries,
companies, and career aspirations. In these segments, you will
network with management level individuals and recruiters to
extend your sphere of influence, seek advancement opportunities,
expand professional awareness, and to accelerate your career.

Managing Job Transition

The average American can expect to change jobs at least eleven
times during his or her career. Taking a new position often
opens the door to enhanced career opportunities and increased
earnings. On the other hand, leaving an employer can present an
employee with critical and potentially confusing decisions.
Understanding the financial choices that are available can help
protect you and your family.

Joseph Chu, Vice President – Portfolio Manager and Wealth
Management Advisor, will identify some problems that often occur
in career transition and present possible strategies for
resolution. The seminar seeks to help you take your first step
to develop planning strategies to make the most of your assets
and ensure a smooth and profitable transition.

Networking to win: What process takes you from resume to offer?

Job Search networking is a technology that differs from social
networking. It involves mastering business issues and where and
how you truly add value against specific issues. This becomes
the basis of a marketing plan more sophisticated than you would
guess. The marketing plan is a working document adjusted weekly
and becomes the basis for great interviewing. Mercer will define
for us the full networking and marketing process, and challenge
our perceptions and raise our commitments to making a larger
difference within targeted organizations. Mercer has coached
more than a thousand executives over 20 years as they have run
and grown organizations across all industries, and has also
supported extraordinary career transitions. She founded Core
Value Coaching because she believes the human contribution is the
most important in business.

Preparing for Your Telephone Interview

Today, more than ever, job candidates make initial contact with
prospective employers via the telephone. Paul Bailo MBA, MSW,
Ph.D. (candidate) is the founder and CEO of Phone Interview Pro
– a service for job seekers who want to perfect their
telephone job interviewing skills. Paul recognized that while
resume, interview preparation, and target company research
assistance are commonly offered by outplacement and career
counseling organizations, the importance of the telephone
interview is often overlooked. In response to this, Phone
Interview Pro has created a 250+ point phone evaluation not seen
in the career services industry...until now! This is not only a
new company, but also a whole new industry; it's exciting for us,
of course, but the real excitement generated by Phone Interview
Pro will come from those who hone their skills using the service.
