Sr. Enterprise Architect – 128/Mass Pike Area of MA – Up to $160K+ DOE

Position Responsibilities – Summary:

Defines the requirements, principles and models that guide technology
decisions in alignment with strategic IT and enterprise goals. Engages in
defining the "as-is state" of IT assets. Defines high level migration plans
to address the gaps between the current and future state within the context
of the IT capital budget and project portfolio.

Analyzes technology trends and identifies opportunities to invest in new IT
assets as well as plan and manage the lifecycle of existing IT assets.

Responsible for defining architecture standards, frameworks and guidelines.
Directly participates in the governance process for reviewing specific
solutions to assure they are properly leveraging existing frameworks and
standards.

Works closely with Solution Architects, Engineering teams and Development
groups to advocate the Enterprise Architecture (EA) process throughout the
organization.

Person will manage 3-4 more junior Architects

This is a High visibility role.

Candidates need to have experience as an enterprise wide architect out of
large, complex, multi location, global environments with wide mix of
technologies, systems, with several thousand devices at both the local level
and at remote offices/stores/distribution centers etc.

Reports to the VP – Enterprise Architecture Services

Key Responsibilities:

· Identifies, publishes and communicates strategic technology
standards, frameworks, principles and roadmaps to be used throughout the IT
organization to guide technology decisions and leverage opportunities
through efficient design. Drives the "as-is state" definition process and
ensures accuracy of the model. Designs a secure, efficient, and adaptable
future state model. Defines the high-level migration plan to address the
gaps between the "as-is" and future state. Ensures migration plan is in
alignment with the IT capital budget, project portfolio, and IT/enterprise
strategic goals.

· Researches and recommends opportunities to adopt new technologies.
Analyzes the impact of implementing new technologies into the IT
infrastructure. Proactively researches IT enterprise architecture best
practices and methodologies and determines relevancy to the IT and business
organizations. Participates in the lifecycle planning of existing IT assets.

· Assists Solution Architects, and Project Managers in matching
technology assets to specific business service and application development
projects to ensure consistent use of the models, throughout the enterprise.
Identifies and leverages opportunities across IT departments to ensure a
consistent and efficient infrastructure framework.

· Educates and guides engineers in the vision and use cases of
specific solutions within the Enterprise Architecture portfolio.

· Develops and participates in the governance of Enterprise
Architecture principles and framework to assure compliance to the EA
strategy and that exceptions are well justified and documented through a
formal waiver process. Analyzes the impact of technology exceptions and its
effect on future IT and enterprise goals.

· Special projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Core architecture background, deep knowledge of IT principles and
processes
· Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations,
technologies and processing environments
· Ability to quickly comprehend the capabilities of new technologies
· Track record of remaining unbiased toward specific technology or
vendor solutions
· Understanding of IT organizational cultures and how to
appropriately respond to points of resistance
· Experience with standards, principles, & directives
· Ability to articulate a vision to motivate key stakeholders
· Ability to understand the big picture and the short-term
perspectives of specific situations
· Focused on long term results
· Excellent managerial skills - Strong business perspective
· Strong leadership and collaboration skills
· Ability to alter direction easily to accommodate changing
priorities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent analytical and technical skills
· Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed
· Master's degree in Computer Science preferred

Travel:

Some travel is required for this role – Around 15% to both Canada & Europe
