Below is the job description to which I am referring for a current job opening located in Jersey City, NJ:

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Design, build, and test MS Access databases used to manage employee data related to headcount and compensation reporting. 

Individual should possess the ability to work as part of a small team dedicated to development of new databases. In-depth knowledge of ODBC, MS Access queries and forms, VBA, and SQL needed in order to complete development in rapid time frame. Excellent analytical skills needed to develop innovative solutions to complex problems or issues that might arise during development and testing.

Responsibilities:
o Complete database design based on functional requirements
o Collaborate with HCM IT to ensure data is accessed correctly
o Build database tables, forms, and queries, including a reconciliation process to optimize data quality
o Prepare comprehensive test cases to make sure requirements are being met
o Participate in parallel production processing to allow for orderly transition to production environment

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in MS Access development, with at least 1 year working with ODBC connected tables
• Advanced MS Access query ability, including pass-through queries and complex joins
• Advanced MS Office desktop development skills, including MS Excel and VBA
• Strong listening and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

                • Basic Business Objects Web Intelligence reporting experience
