Valeant is currently seeking a Senior Application Analyst/Developer, EDI.

Position Title: Senior Application Analyst/Developer, EDI

Using knowledge of business processes, work with internal and external customers to coordinate the EDI function for all present and future transactions. Act as the technical lead for all matters concerning EDI. Work with the ERP and other related systems to develop solutions to business issues. Prepare project definition documents, design specifications, mapping and bpml development, test and installation documentation according to Systems Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• As the EDI lead, maintain centre of excellence by managing each EDI project from design through implementation using the approved systems Development Lifecycle processes.
• Using the Gentran and GIS EDI systems, map customer related business transactions to the ERP system and/or other major internal systems.
• Utilizing SDLC, participate in ERP-related projects with analysis, testing and implementation of key components of the system.
• Business Process Mapping
• Prepare detailed user, functional and design specifications for technical teams employing user case documents, diagrams, screen mockups as applicable;
• Develop test plans and test cases and assist the business with user acceptance testing execution;
• System enhancements and project implementation support
• Troubleshoots issues and identify their source, and determining possible solutions;
• Act as a liaison between IT department and other business units;
• Participates in all SDLC phases of projects and assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules;
• Follow Change Management and Incident Management processes
• Ensure that all compliance requirements, such Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SOX are met during implementation & development process
• Develops, maintains and executes Disaster and Recovery procedures for EDI systems
Qualifications:
• Post secondary diploma/degree in Science, Computer Engineering or similar
• 7+ EDI development and administration experience.
• Strong business skills, ability to analyze and simulate materials flow.
• Proficient in mapping using Gentran (5.1 or higher version) and GIS (4.2 or higher version ) EDI systems
• Experience with documents such as the 856, 850, 810, 944, 945, 947, 940, 820, 823, 180 and others.
• Proficient with Trading Partner Implementation, Map Specifications Development
Map Creation, BPML Creation and Modification experience
• Strong skills with EDI X. 12. Edifact, XML an asset
• Working experience with AS2 software: Axway, Cleo
• Strong skills with ERP systems (QAD's MfgPro preferred), EDI Ecommerce; JDE, BPCS, SAP, PRMS experience is also acceptable
• Strong skills in any 4GL programming language, Progress 4GL would be an asset
• Experience W2k and UNIX, particularly HP-UX.
• Good understanding of GMP and SOX regulatory requirements for computerized systems;
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical environment a definite asset
