Sr. Business Analyst

6+ Months Contract
The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering business requirements and documenting both functional specifications and user acceptance testing related activities. This role will be pivotal in helping ensure we deliver the highest quality products on time and within budget.
Essential Job Functions
1. Effectively gather requirements, document functional/non-functional specifications, use cases, business process flows, etc. Also be prepared to write user acceptance test script along with the business team.
2. Work with business and technical Subject Matter Experts to develop thorough understanding of Applications, Systems, Business Methods and Strategies
3. Define and implement best practices and processes for standardized software development methodology as it relates to Business Analysts across the organization and their role/deliverables in IT projects
4. Potential involvement in triaging defects during the QA testing cycle
5. Schedule meetings, take meeting minutes, action items, and communicate effectively with all parties
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required to provide Writing Samples/ References in the interview
7. Provide clarification to Engineering/QA/Business on Functional Specification/ Non Functional Details
Non-Essential Job Functions
1. Provide feedback and recommendations for improving user experience and innovation
2. Provide recommendations to improve processes/documentation for all project phases and participants
Qualifications - Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or equivalent training, experience and education. Master's Degree in any of the above disciplines is preferred.
2. Five (5) or more years as Business or Systems Analyst
3. Experience in E-commerce, Brand Websites, Mobile, and/or Social technologies and solutions, AND/OR Experience in Enterprise Content Management
4. Experience in the Hotel Industry, Hospitality Industry or Travel Industry is strongly preferred.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills; Prefer candidates with Communication Course
6. Ability to effectively work on multiple projects and resources in a large matrix organization
Complexity
a) Potentially makes decisions related to the approach and delivery of key project documentation
b) Actively interact directly with senior IT and business team members, as well as outside agencies with minimal supervision
c) Will impact quality, timing and cost of key Initiatives
d) Work with an array of FTE and Temporary/Contract resources from various groups.

Job Description:
We are looking for a BA with a solid background in Property and Casualty Insurance and overall insurance systems. They will be working with business users, 3rd Party software vendors, consultants, and testing teams to push out small enhancements to existing systems for our P and C client in Northern New Jersey. They will be creating new functionalities, working to resolve production support issues, and clearing up defects as well. Primary responsibilities include business requirements, functional design, data and rules requirements, testing support, deployment support and ownership for business analysis standards and templates.
Job Requirements:
· Versatile skill set and the ability to interact well with business partners and IT team members as well as with software vendor and IT service provider resources
· 4-6 years IT delivery experience
· Solid Experience with Property and Casualty Insurance in an IT system delivery capacity
· Strong vendor management skills
· Strong presentation and communication skills
· Solid experience eliciting good business requirements, conducting JAD sessions, creating business requirements documents.
· Ability and willingness to work in a highly dynamic environment.
