"Outthink the Competition" profiles the next generation business
strategists: the "Outthinkers." "Outthinkers" are
entrepreneurs<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001TXUIPlE27n4ZyTZsNv8LpeRwkRajwjM-3KrQYEMpoGlTt08JHlpBMylSlUxrO-4NeH626yrETBf5YerWVu1-rEJGN61j-ROp427AZ0itLTEbVHRHjoTqZ-e7_86h46xLFFLzM6bowCUciNaAqil8fQ==>
and
corporate leaders with a new playbook. They see opportunities others
ignore, challenge dogma others accept as truth, rally resources others
cannot influence, and unleash new strategies that disrupt their markets.
"Outthink the Competition" proves that business competition is undergoing a
fundamental paradigm shift and that during such revolutions, outthinkers
beat traditionalists.

The book presents stories of breakthrough companies like Apple, Google,
Vistaprint<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001TXUIPlE27n4ZyTZsNv8LpeRwkRajwjM-3KrQYEMpoGlTt08JHlpBMylSlUxrO-4NeH626yrETBf5YerWVu1-rEJGN61j-ROp427AZ0itLTEbVHRHjoTqZ-e7_86h46xLFFLzM6bowCUciNaAqil8fQ==>,
and Rosetta Stone whose stunning performances defy traditional explanation
and will inspire readers to outthink the competition. Core concepts in the
book include:

- Discover the Eight Dimensions of Disruption
- Learn to play by the Outthinker Playbook
- Develop the Five Habits of the Outthinker
- Implement the Outthinker Process

It's time to buck tradition in order to stay ahead. Outthink the
competition and uncover opportunities hiding in plain sight.

5 Secrets To Quickly Land The Job

Posted by Vickie Elmer <http://www.glassdoor.com/blog/author/vickie-elmer/>
. May 7th, 2012

More employers <http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/index.htm> are hiring in a
hurry, making decisions within days or in some cases hours of meeting great
candidates.

My new piece on Fortune.com
<http://management.fortune.cnn.com/2012/04/30/hiring-in-a-hurry-picks-up/?ii
d=SF_F_LN> tells how and why companies are doing this, and from many
indications this is a trend that could accelerate in the next few years, as
Baby Boomers and others retire or reinvent themselves. Companies
<http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/index.htm> are concerned if they don't
hire quickly, their top candidate will move elsewhere or start their own
enterprises.

So how do you as a candidate get snatched up faster, by a company that is
determined to build its team quickly? The key, of course, is to be the kind
of talent that looks like a $40 steak at Ruth's Chris Steak House - so
delicious and well-prepared that any manager will bite.

Here are some other ways to speed your hiring along:

Bad Social Media Behavior Can Ruin Your Job Search

By Dennis McCafferty <http://www.baselinemag.com/cp/bio/Dennis-McCafferty/>
on 2012-05-02

If you think those wild photos of you and your friends from the last Cinco
de Mayo aren't a big deal, you'd better think again: They could cost you a
job. A significant percentage of job seekers are passed over because of
inappropriate posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites,
according to a <http://www.baselinemag.com/> CareerBuilder survey. There's
a good chance your next would-be employer is doing social media research
along with reading your resume. What should you do? Be careful about what
you post - and what others post about you. "Because social media is a
dominant form of communication today, you can learn a lot about a person by
viewing their public online persona," says Rosemary Haefner, vice president
of human resources at CareerBuilder. "If you choose to leave social media
content public, filter out anything that can tarnish your professional
reputation, and post communications, links and photos that portray you in
the best possible light." More than 2,300 hiring managers and human
resources professionals took part in the research.

3 Ways to Ease the Monotony of Resume Writing

May 9, 2012 . by Jessica Holbrook Hernandez
<http://www.careerealism.com/author/jessica-holbrook/>

It's true everyone can get tired of writing resumes.

But the reason for it isn't usually laziness; it's that the process can feel
so tedious.

Having to sit there and think about everything you've accomplished in your
career can be overwhelming, especially since you have to incorporate
different information into each resume every time you apply for a different
position.

The process can sometimes be so tedious that it becomes difficult to achieve
the focus necessary to send an impactful message. Of course, you don't want
this to happen, which is why it's good to use various strategies to ease the
monotony of the resume writing process
<http://www.careerealism.com/create-unrealistic-resume/> .

  1. The Project Management Professional (PMP) degree is given by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has existed for a significant amount of time. It basically certifies you as an expert in project management. The benefits of getting a PMP include potential salary increase as well as better professional recognition and better potential in general. It also looks great on your resume, making it stand out.
