POSITION TITLE: Lead Programmer Analyst

COMPENSATION:    $100,000 - $120,000 base + Bonus
 
COMPANY:    Our client is a leader in the Financial Services industry.
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY
 
•    Only considering applicants that are interested in learning AS/400.
•    Candidates must have experience in developing backend applications while pursuing their degree or within an internship or full time employment capacity. 
•    Experience and/or knowledge of Fixed Income is a strong plus.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
•   Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics or related fields of study such as Fixed Income Securities, Corporate Finance/Portfolio Management, and/or Back Office Operations/Clearance Operations.
•   Technical/Trade School in related areas such as above.
•   5-7 years On hands experience in Supporting Enterprise Applications
•   Skills include JSP, XML, RPG/400, DB2/400, ILE Concepts, CL/ 400 Programming and Volante Tool Skill.
•   Webservices, Websphere, Java, SQL, Scripts
•   Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
•   Strong analytical and communication skills required.
•   Bachelors (highly preferred)
 
 
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
•    Providing production support for our Client's Application. The system provides leading global financial institutions with trade capture and processing, as well as clearing and settlement functions for domestic and foreign fixed-income instruments, including extensive support for mortgage-backed securities. The Application is also a multi-entity system that provides real-time position and balance information, as well as detailed accounting, financial and repo functionality.
•    Support business conversion projects, resolve functional issues and triage application problems to the applications development or system support functions.
•    Reviewing and Analyzing Requirements Specification / Enhancement Specification Documents, use the review process to train and share the product domain knowledge with less experienced team members.
•    Conducting an in-depth analysis of Service Requests raised by internal / external clients to determine the appropriate course of action.
•    Assisting Help Desk in meeting the client needs by providing review of information relating to impact processing.
•    Troubleshooting real-time production issues to ensure a smooth running of Client's application within the prescribed productivity time frame.
•    Documenting new/changed operational procedures associated with development/maintenance projects.
•    Reviewing and validating the analysis done by the Off-shore team.
•    Supporting the testing of enhancements and fixes, and assist functional testing groups who ensure that the programs are functioning correctly and the enhancements function in accordance with the enhancement specifications.
•    Recommending solutions and identifies required program corrections that resolve issues that clients have in conducting their day to day business.
•    Ensuring that the static data/configuration/set-up's are accurate in all client regions to minimize functional service requests.
•    Participating in peer review processes to ensure the quality of issues turned over to application development/systems support groups is maintained within prescribed quality control standards.
