This hands-on Manager, Systems Development, is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the efforts of direct reports in the development of Business Process Management/Enterprise Content Management Systems.

This manager is responsible for delivering ECM systems which manage millions of documents a year across all aspects of Group Insurance - Enrollment of Individuals through Billing and Claims Processing.

The manager is also responsible for the successful delivery of systems supporting Service Delivery through the Contact Centers. The Manager will bring leadership to teams of developers with Java/.NET/Documentum/Oracle based software applications/products/HP Exstream- Pega BPM.

Responsibilities include:
Lead teams of developers made up employees and consultants (onshore and offshore).
Manage the day to day aspects of technical delivery
Delivery of systems across multiple channels including web based applications delivered to consumers, business partners and internal stakeholders across multiple delivery channels including desktop and mobile.

Application Delivery/Support: Accountable for gaining and maintaining alignment of delivery success criteria with business partners

Accountable for identifying needs, securing commitments and monitoring progress of deliverables from internal and external service provider teams

Accountable for ensuring technology solutions comply with architectural standards and are properly documented IT Process Mgmt and Administrative:

Accountable for administrative management of 4 - 8 IT professionals, either as direct reports or sourced - HR administration, Salary administration, Time Reporting, etc.

Define, prioritize, allocate resources, track and provide status reporting of work assignments, projects, programs Organizational Effectiveness / People: Provide leadership by establishing department and individuals goals

Responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to the organization structure, roles and responsibilities.

Responsible for department and individual performance assessments and improvement plans.

Responsible for hiring, coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Equivalent work experience.
Skill set must include: Java/J2EE, HTML, Javascript, Oracle Experience with Enterprise Content Management application development and/or Business Process Management related to ECM or Contact Center application development

Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of networking is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment.

Must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and be able to work in a team oriented environment.

Experience 7+years of professional experience in application analysis, design, and development.

Minimum of 3 years of management or technical developer lead experience.

Experience in application development, multiple major project delivering of med-large scale projects/programs. 5 years or more of Java/J2EE or .NET experience 3 years or more of Documentum ECM experience 3 years or more of BPM experience (Pega experience a plus) Experience in Insurance industry, especially Group Insurance related is a significant plus
