problem solving skills. We are presently using Microsoft Exchange 2010 in
production. The candidate needs to have Windows Server 2008 experience as
well. They will be providing level 2 & 3 support.****

· Knowledge of Exchange 2010, Email gateways, message flow and the
ability to troubleshoot complex issues are a must. The Candidate should
have at least 5 years with Exchange and a minimum of 1 year with Exchange

Early Learning Centers (MELC) was founded in 1963 as the Day Care Association
of Montgomery County, Inc. to address unmet needs for child care locally,
including those from low-income families.  From its original location at one site in

programs now extend to 18 sites in Montgomery County, and Philadelphia counties.  In 1996, the agency began doing business as

six weeks to twelve years of age.

Summary of the Position
 
MELC
is seeking an Executive Director/CEO (ED). The ED drives strategic planning and
implementation and ensures fiscal, operational, marketing, human resources,
technology and programmatic outcomes that support the established mission,
goals and values of Montgomery Early Learning Centers.  The ED provides the leadership to the
center's staff according to the strategic direction set by the Board of
Directors, including consistent communication of the vision of what the center
can be at its best.  The ED has 3 direct
reports and reports to the Board of Directors. 
 
Requirements
 
The
successful candidate will have:
 
* Strong interpersonal  skills with a proven successful record of building and maintaining strong working relationships  with internal staff and board and external stakeholders
 
* Organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development and strategic planning; demonstrated success developing and monitoring systems to manage both operational and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration
 
* Knowledge of Early Childhood and School Age programs, curriculums, partnerships and funding climate
 
* Knowledge of policies and legislation impacting early childhood education and the ability to be an advocate for effective policies
 
* Experience in fundraising, including fostering strong partnerships with external partners, community members and government officials.
 
* Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast moving environment while also driving clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
 
* Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder and fundraiser

Responsibilities
 
Scope
of responsibility includes but is not limited to:
 
1.            Strategic
Vision and Leadership
 
•         Motivate,
lead and sustain a  high-performance
senior management team to ensure the continued development and management of a
professional and efficient organization;

collaboration with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team, develop
and implement organizational plans and goals that advance the achievement of
MELC’s mission and values
•         Establish
and maintain effective decision-making and conflict resolution processes that
will enable MELC to achieve its short and long-term goals and objectives

credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective

an external presence and become the face of MELC by developing relationships

2.            Board
Relations
 
•         Cultivate
a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open

objectives, finances, staffing and other relevant issues
•         Recommend
policies and/or programs to the Board and its committees

3.            Program/Services
 
•         Ensure
the delivery of high quality programs and best practices to all clients in
compliance with external/governmental requirements, applicable laws and
regulations

that programs and operations are supported by sufficient technological systems
and business infrastructure
 
 
4.            Financial
Management and Operations
 
·         Oversee
the financial status of the organization including developing long and short
range financial plans, monitoring the budget ($10 million annually) and
ensuring sound financial controls are in place
·         Regularly
assess and refine the organization’s structure and staffing to ensure maximum
effectiveness, the highest quality of services and appropriate operational
capacity
·         Formulate
and execute comprehensive marketing, branding, and development strategies that
will enhance revenue from clients, major donors, foundations, government
agencies and corporations
·         Oversee
the risk management and legal activities
·         Ensure
operational and fiscal viability of all current or new facilities of the
organization
 
 
Qualifications
 
•         Minimum
BA/BS in Education,  Administration,  Management or related advanced degree
•         10-15
years progressively responsible administrative/organizational leadership
•         Prior
nonprofit experience ideal,  management
of a multisite organization preferred
 
Travel Requirements
 
Travel
as needed to program sites within 50 mile radius.  Travel to meetings, conferences, workshops
and other relevant gatherings.  May
involve long distance travel and overnight stays.
