Job Description:

 

 

Job Title: Project Manager
Location:NYC midtown
Job Type:Contract
Duration 8-12 months

This individual will be responsible for all requisite planning, execution and successful completion of key system integration points related to the launch of clients new website and migration to Demandware.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Project Management to:

Ensure clear and attainable project objectives are defined according to the project purpose and need; Define project success criteria and metrics for measuring; Ensuring project objectives are accomplished within the stipulated time frame of the project
Define necessary and appropriate level of project governance; Clearly define the structure, roles/responsibilities, people, information and processes for necessary governance (decision making)
Clearly define project scope and proactively manage changes in scope over the life of the project
Set and continually manage project expectations with key stakeholders and project team
Create, execute and manage a well-defined project plan and schedule with tasks and resource assignments
Responsible for all project financials and management of overall project budget, ensuring adequate and necessary funding for project delivery
Conduct effective and efficient project team status meetings
Provide timely and effective project status reports to stakeholders, which includes key issues and risks
Institute a routine issue and risk management process
Proactively monitor progress and critical path, identify potential crises and determine contingency plans
Define the project team and the necessary roles/responsibilities required to successfully deliver the project; Ensure the necessary staff and skill sets are acquired and trained, both internal and external
Liaise and manage vendors and consultants, and ensure all necessary resources and associated work is contracted
Mentor and motivate project team members (both internal and external resources)
Leverage the IS Project Management Methodology processes and tools and PM best practices in managing the project
Clearly define deliverables and accountability of deliverables; Track project deliverables and ensure all necessary PM and SDLC deliverables are reviewed and signed off on a timely basis to ensure quality
Assist in the development of key presentations to IS Leadership or other company Executives as required (i.e., providing necessary project status information)
Conduct project post mortems and provide recommendations for improvements
The accomplished individual will possess:

10+ years of project management experience
Understanding of theoretical project management best practices and practical application of those practices on large, complex and cross functional projects
Strong experience in infrastructure integration
PMI qualification is desired
Retail industry experience desired
SAP experience desired
Experience with Enterprise Service Bus desired
Experience managing various infrastructure projects is preferred
