College Relations Coordinator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Primary responsibilities include writing feature stories and press releases forthe Newsroom, promoting the Newsroom to outside audiences, managing the speakers bureau (database of experts), pitching stories to the media, coordinating public relations and media events, analyzing media coverage, managing the photography needs of the department and writing scripts for video news packages for distribution on the Newsroom and social media (produced in collaboration with Brookdale Television). The coordinator will work closely with members of the Advancement Department and other departments on campus to generate publicity and report on events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field is required,Bachelor's preferred. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in public relations or communications field is preferred. Experience using website content management system, Word Press preferred, and familiarity with social media platforms: YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office is a must, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with photo editing software, such as Photoshop, preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work in multi-project, fast paced environment and meet concurrent deadlines. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evening/weekends).

SALARY Annual Entry Salary is $46,634 with benefits. (A2)
