Key Responsibilities:
Summary
We are seeking an experience IT Manager, Insurance Business Analysis for our New York, NY office. The IT Manager, Insurance Business Analysis (BA) is responsible for management of business analysis across all Insurance projects and services. This position is responsible for the proactive support of business solutions with a focus on achieving (1) business process efficiency, (2) corporate goals and initiatives, and (3) service excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs and oversees the evolution of ITs business requirements activities across all the Insurance portfolio. Ensures that the solutions developed support business departments in achieving their strategic and tactical objectives.
Leads the team of approximately 8 10 business analysts. Facilitates prioritization, resource management and supports decision making. Review work products as needed and address escalated issues. Manages team member development including orientation, training, performance management, counseling and disciplinary action as needed.
Collaborates with the CIO, IT leadership and business partners to direct IT investments in support of the overall Insurance business strategy. Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Maintains regular communications with departmental managers and business process managers regarding pertinent IT activities.
Establishes processes and tools to measure, report, and improve customer satisfaction on an on-going basis. Oversees the enforcement of business analysis processes, departmental standards, style requirements and all other procedures necessary to meet the business objectives and quality standards for IT deliveries. Provides strategic direction and assists with prioritizing initiatives to achieve optimum business results and customer satisfaction.
Recommends, designs and monitors IT process improvement activities aimed at reducing costs, improving quality and speed to market.
Works closely with Human Resources to develop effective methods of attracting and retaining IT staff in a competitive environment.

Maintains productive vendor relationships and vendor/partner philosophy. Ensures appropriate and timely participation in all corporate initiative planning and implementation efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's Degree in Computer Science and/or MBA preferred
10+ years' experience in P&C Insurance Information Technology, with at least:
o 8+ years direct management experience, with large and distributed teams
o 5+ years' experience managing business analysis teams
o Experienced in technology implementation and support
Demonstrated business savvy to work effectively with other managers and leaders to achieve key business and technology goals.
A track record of successful large project implementations
Broad IT infrastructure and application architecture knowledge.
Experience in building a new model to serve the IT needs of a growing and change-oriented company
Proven leadership ability to effectively manage a team of IT professionals and contractors.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Ability to handle demanding workloads to meet objectives.
Lean Six Sigma experience, a plus
Possesses strong business acumen with proven experience in thinking strategically and implementing tactically
Is an intelligent, forward thinking manager who is team-oriented, proactive and predisposed to act as a "partner "
Possess strong leadership and managerial skills
Is respectful, honest and demonstrates integrity and ethics
Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
Listens effectively, shares ideas and information openly and facilitates relationship building by establishing trust
Is customer focused/service oriented
Demonstrates strong analytical and decision making skills
Is driven, compassionate, and creative
