Position Responsibilities - Summary
This role is part of the FI Group. The Fixed Income Systems team is
responsible for providing front-office Information Services capabilities to
the firm's Fixed Income Investment teams. The team plays a critical role in
our firm's success by providing technical solutions that improve the
efficiency, speed and quality of the highly complex investment
decision-making process.
As a member of the Fixed Income Systems team, this individual will be
responsible for solutions delivery for Fixed Income Investment business. A
Senior Software Engineer is expected to:
Delivery of high quality business solutions;
Interface and coordinate with the broad Information Services teams to ensure
successful delivery;
Demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills with ability to
handle multiple activities in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
. Interact with Systems Analysts and Investment professionals at all levels
of the organization as needed, to proactively identify opportunities for
new/improved systems to improve the investment process.
. Provide implementation of business process improvements involving (but not
limited to) investment process efficiency, data quality improvements and
simplifying investor work flow.
Required Skills and Competencies:
. Minimum of five years of hands-on design and development
experience in Java
. Comfortable working with multi-threading, database technologies
and Unix
. Knowledge of common design patterns
. Experience with emerging industry technologies
. Demonstrated experience in problem-solving for production
systems
. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
. Willingness to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced,
business-critical and team oriented-environment
. A strong team player, with ability to collaborate across
multiple teams.
