Position Summary:

Our Trading team is growing their engineering team and is looking for highly
motivated engineers to make an impact at the firm. This is a great
opportunity for an engineer to build a career and learn about electronic
trading in the rapidly evolving financial investment industry.

Our engineers interface directly with traders to deliver solutions that are
innovative and leverage technical trends in the financial industry. By
working collaboratively with our traders, you will gain valuable financial
investment insight into the financial markets and help the firm continue to
improve and evolve its trading capabilities.

Responsibilities:

* Technical design, implementation, deployment, and support of the
equity trading suite of applications

* Partner with Business Analysts to review and implement business
requirements

* Partner with Project Managers, Technical and QA Leads on
estimates, statuses, identify issues and raise risks

* Partner with the Architecture team to ensure track work is
aligned with the strategic direction of the enterprise

* Stay current with evolving Trading industry and technical trends
to ensure systems and team are of highest caliber

Required Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and proven
ability to design and deliver solutions relevant to complex business
problems.

Specific requirements include, in order of importance:

* 3 to 7 plus years in systems development using Java and J2EE

* Strong knowledge and experience with message technologies (e.g.
JMS)

* Strong knowledge and experience with multi-threaded applications

* Strong knowledge and experience with Spring framework

* Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle database

* Experience developing high performance trading applications is a
plus

* Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production
environment

* Strong analysis, design and modeling skills

* Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies and
their effective application

* HTML5/JavaScript development experience would be considered a
plus

* Computer Science degree or related field

Keys to this Role

Position Summary:

The Fixed Income Systems Team is responsible for providing front-office
Information Services capabilities to Wellington's fixed income portfolio
management and research analyst teams. Members of the team play critical
roles in our firm's success by providing technology solutions which improve
the quality, speed, and efficiency of a highly complex investment
decision-making process. It is our strong belief that the tools developed by
the Fixed Income Systems team contribute to investment performance and
differentiate us from our competitors in the financial industry.

We are seeking candidates who will work closely with the firm's investment
team and lead the development of the advanced suite of fixed income
investment applications.

This individual will report to the Director of Fixed Income Systems.

Responsibilities:

As a senior member of the Fixed Income Systems team, this individual will
have the following responsibilities:

* Oversight of the technical design, implementation, testing,
deployment, and support of complex applications used by the fixed income
portfolio management and research teams

* Active participation in the development of business requirements
for new capabilities, including a close working relationship with the Fixed
Income investment team

* Team management responsibilities, including the recruiting,
supervision, and development of staff and consultant developers/analysts

* Interaction with other IT teams within the firm to ensure
effective integration with other portfolio management and decisions support
tools used throughout the firm

Required Skills and Competencies:

* A solid software engineering background, including at least ten
years of hands-on development experience in a commercial environment

* At least five years of experience managing software development
teams

* A solid understanding of fixed income and derivative instruments
from a front-office perspective. Candidates must demonstrate a good
understanding of market practices, analytics, risk management, and related
investment processes

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with fixed income
investment professionals

* The ability and willingness to work effectively in a
business-critical production environment

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills

* Willingness to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and
team-oriented environment

* The ability to work independently

* The ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related

Keys to this Role

1. Technical Leadership: We are seeking a strong Software Engineering Lead,
which can manage a development team of up to 12 resources (combination of
permanent and consultants with an onshore/offshore model.

2. Technology: This individual will lead a team but will also have the
capability to be very hands-on and code if necessary. The firm is primarily
a Java/Oracle shop but we are open to the technical background of the
candidate. We will look at Java/Oracle as well as Microsoft technologies.

3. Domain: We are seeking a candidate that has a solid understanding of the
Investment workflow. The ideal candidate will have experience with Fixed
Income Systems but we are open to other Asset classes, such as Derivatives.

4. Note: This role will start as an Individual contributor, but will have a
fast path to leadership.
